A luxury mansion in a prestigious estate in Surrey, whose designs are inspired by five-star hotels from around the world, along with features that recall notable historic buildings and luxury leisure facilities, is up for sale.
Consero London’s latest mansion, called Furze Croft, is a highly distinctive and outstanding residence where purchasers can indulge in five-star luxury and enjoy living spaces whose ambience recalls some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts, according to the leading UK ultra-prime developer.
Located off East Road in the St George’s Hill estate in Weybridge, Furze Croft is a newly-built residence that provides 16,193 sq ft of luxurious accommodation with extensive leisure facilities, staff accommodation and garaging set in 1.74 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds.
The hotel design references start from the minute a visitor steps inside the luxurious entrance hall.
The hall is a copy of the lobby in Claridge’s, right down to the black Marron Dior and white Botticino Fiorito checkered marble flooring, antique finish mirrored doors and walls, Venizia stone fireplace and sweeping stone staircase.
This is complemented by a double height atrium over the hall which is surmounted by a glass roof cupola of the kind found in a country estate such as Chatsworth or Blenheim Palace.
The hotel inspired interiors are continued in the luxurious guest cloakroom, located off the hall, which is designed in a style that recalls the Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge. The cloakroom contains a large bathroom suite and a walk-in vanity room with antique finish mirrored doors, deep bespoke in-built wardrobes and custom-made silk wall paneling.
The hall give access to an 18-seater dining room which overlooks the sweeping rear lawns and grounds. Double doors from the dining room lead into the family kitchen and breakfast room whose design was inspired by a French chateau. The kitchen units and cabinets are all hand crafted and hand painted, complimented by a bespoke design oval coffered ceiling and Botticino Fiorito marble flooring. Off the main hallway there is also an elegant study/library with handcrafted cabinetry; a comfortable family/TV room and a second kitchen and pantry for staff use.
The hotel ambience is continued in the residence’s chillout bar, which is located in one of the side wings of the house, just off the main drawing room. Inspired by The Viceroy, a fashionable beach resort in Santa Monica, the bar consists of a large VIP entertaining suite with bar and drinks lounge. Folding glass doors can be open to merge this space with the outside terrace, forming a dramatic reception venue which can entertain up to 200 people.
The other wing provides an extensive leisure complex whose design was influenced by a Turkish hammam in Marrakesh. The complex features an entrance lobby, swimming pool room with 11 m long, 2.1 m deep swimming pool, spa pool and lounge areas; a gymnasium, sauna and changing/toilet facilities. In front of the windows of the pool room are Turkish trellis-style teak wood blinds to shade the pool from the sun. Folding glass doors in the pool room can be opened onto the garden, creating a large inside-outside leisure area.
On the lower ground floor of the mansion is a stunning private cinema with customised wall panelling, tiered platform flooring just like a real movie house and sumptuous sofa seating. The plush style of the cinema recalls the iconic Electric Cinema on the Portobello Road in Notting Hill. This floor also has a wine display suite which echoes the wine display cabinets of the ME London Hotel on the Strand. The suite contains a lobby with specially commissioned oak wine display cabinets and a glass enclosed temperature controlled wine room capable of holding some 1,700 bottles of fine wine and spirits.
Furze Croft has six luxurious bedroom suites. The master bedroom echoes the space and luxury of a Four Seasons hotel VIP suite. It has a bedroom with sleeping area and lounge area, opening onto a private terrace (overlooking the rear lawns) complete with twin walk-in dressing rooms and bathrooms. With its beautiful walnut wood teak-finish decking, the terrace has the ambience of a luxury yacht, says the developer.
There are four further bedroom suites with walk-in dressing rooms and ensuites, and one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. On the first floor of one wing there is also a two-bedroom staff apartment with self contained kitchen and sitting room, which could alternatively serve as an annex for a teenager or relative.
Robert Osborn, Founding Director of Consero London, says: “’Our clients are successful and highly sophisticated international people who are used to staying in the world’s best hotels and enjoy the ambience and services they provide. This is why rather than delivering a conventional interior at Furze Croft we decided to create a luxurious ambience that has a five-star hotel ambience and facilities. The result is a mansion that sets a new benchmark for quality and luxury in the St George’s Hill housing market.”
Furze Croft is set in 1.74 acres of landscaped gardens, with a selection of feature trees and plants specially hand selected and imported from Tuscany. There is landscaping to the front of house and to the rear extensive terracing, outside lighting and a sweeping oval lawn with a feature sculpture and a border of magnolia trees. There is also a side lawn, flower beds and the perimeter of the grounds are bordered by mature rhododendron bushes and Oak and Pine trees. The garage can accommodate up to four limousines or large saloon cars, with direct access to the house via side lobby.
Accessed via private tree lined boulevards, the leafy St George’s Hill estate has both golf and tennis clubs, large waterfeatures and abundance of manicured green spaces. The estate’s mansions and houses are all set in gated landscaped grounds of over one acre in size. St George’s Hill provides easy access to central London, M25 and Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
Furze Croft is priced at £17.5 million ($27.27 million). Viewings are by appointment only. For further information contact Knight Frank (Tim Garbett) on +44-1372464496.
