ISA Yachts has announced new strategies and major investments. ISA shipyard, recently named Palumbo Ancona Shipyard Isa srl, is evolving continuously and will become the hub for luxury yacht production within the Palumbo Group.
The investment plan got under way with the start of work on the two facility expansion projects announced and the acquisition of cutting edge equipment. The investments have two goals: to increase the shipyard’s production capacity and to enhance the after sales and refitting services.
The construction work that began a few weeks ago is proceeding rapidly on the shed, which will be large enough to accommodate simultaneously two yachts measuring over 80 metres.
“This is an important project for the shipyard’s development,” explains Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of ISA Yachts “which will allow to build two megayachts at the same time. Market demand from owners is converging on big hulls and we want to be ready to make the most of this challenge”. The shed, which has required a major investment, will be ready by the end of June.
The construction of this impressive facility represents only one of the many initiatives undertaken by Palumbo Group to develop the recently acquired shipyard. The new business strategy defined for Isa Yachts also includes the setting up of new guest-quarters, the acquisition of modern equipment and state of the art technology.
A new 560-tonne travel lift is already working, replacing the previous unit that could haul and launch vessels weighing up to 400 tonnes. Palumbo Group is also investing in a dry dock for yachts over 60 meters in length. “Our goal,” continues Palumbo, “is to strengthen our presence in the refit and maintenance market, so that after purchasing their yacht, owners can always rely on an efficient and complete after sales service”.
Palumbo Group is also considering the possibility of equipping the dry dock with a syncrolift (a massive, mobile platform for megayachts).
