Six European companies were honoured yesterday with the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) Safety of Flight Awards, as part of the 2017 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (Ebace 2017) in Geneva, Switzerland.
“These awards recognise companies for their exceptional achievement in maintaining safe flying operations, as well the thorough and diligent attention paid to safety in all aspects of their operations,” said EBAA President Brian Humphries. “By following safety best practices and achieving accident-free operations, these companies have proven to be admirable safety standard-bearers for the business aviation industry.”
This year’s EBAA Safety of Flight Award recipients are as follows:
• Cat Aviation AG received the EBAA Silver Safety of Flight Award, recognising companies that have achieved at least 30 years, or 60,000 hours, without an accident.
• FAI rent-a-jet AG received the EBAA’s Gold Safety of Flight Award, honouring companies that have achieved at least 40 years, or 80,000 hours, without an accident.
• PrivatAir received the EBAA Platinum Safety of Flight Award, recognising companies that have achieved at least 50 years, or 100,000 hours, of safe flying.
• Three companies – DC Aviation GmbH, Flying Group N.V.and Gama Aviation of the United Kingdom– received the EBAA Diamond Safety of flight Award recognises a company that has achieved more than 50 years or 100,000 hours, without an accident.
Ebace 2017 features more than 400 exhibitors, 58 aircraft on display at Geneva airport and four more inside the Palexpo exhibit hall. The show concludes tomorrow.
