Morocco’s reputation in the business aviation industry continues to grow as major industry players recognise the opportunities it offers, according to the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA).
This is evident from the commitment that many are making to the upcoming MEBAA Show Morocco, taking place in September this year, including leading company Gulfstream joining as silver sponsor, it says.
As a strategic location with easy access to Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Africa, Morocco has become a popular destination for corporations such as Boeing looking to expand internationally, and the aerospace industry in the country benefits from ardent government backing.
In addition, reports state that the country’s 2020 aerospace goals include bringing in 100 new investors, creating 23,000 new jobs and generating $1.6 billion in new revenue.
Business aviation fleet size in the region has doubled over the past ten years. Africa is forecast to receive aircraft deliveries to a value of $7 billion over the next ten years with over 80% of these predicted to be in the light or medium categories, according to the Bombardier Business Aircraft Market Forecast 2016 – 2025. The same report predicts compound annual fleet growth of 3.2 per cent.
“The business aviation opportunities in Morocco are outstanding,” says Ali Al Naqbi, Founding & Executive Chairman of MEBAA. “The industry is burgeoning at the moment, with major players investing heavily in the region and the government strongly committed to supporting infrastructure growth. Now is the ideal time to explore the opportunities offered by the region and the MEBAA Show Morocco provides the ideal platform to do so.”
Boeing Business Jets is one of the key names already committed to exhibit at the MEBAA Show Morocco 2017, with other exhibitors hailing from a range of locations including Africair from the USA, Jet Aviation from Switzerland and Jetex from the UAE, demonstrating the international reach of the show. Local companies will also be represented, with Morocco-based Air Ocean Maroc returning for the second edition.
The MEBAA Show Morocco takes place September 12 and 13 at Marrakech Menara Airport, having moved to a larger location to accommodate the event’s growth since its Organised by F&E Aerospace on behalf of MEBAA
F&E Aerospace is exhibiting at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (Ebace) in Geneva, which concludes today.
