IDAIR has been awarded a further two B787 contracts by an undisclosed customer. This award is on the heels of three successful B787 aircraft deliveries.
The two B787s will be provided with connectivity, inflight entertainment (IFE) and cabin management systems that perfectly meet the requirements for newest cabin technologies.
The system to be installed will provide overhead HD displays up to 55 inches, in and at seat entertainment, overhead surround and in seat audio, control of electronically dimmable window shades, comprehensive control of dynamic lighting systems and much more.
Private content can be also accessed and streamed to the system adding to a fantastic private rooms' ambiance. An elegant graphical user interface will allow passengers and crew to experience an intuitive high-end product, providing seamless accessibility from mobile devices.
Dr Wassef Ayadi, CEO of IDAIR, and Alan Cumming, CFO of IDAIR, said: “We are very proud of this award that once again shows the level of recognition from the industry for the success we have achieved on this type of airframe. We thank our customer and partners for their trust and look forward to a successful delivery and continued further appreciation of the IDAIR product."
IDAIR also recently delivered its new generation narrow body IFE and cabin management solution (CMS) on a BBJ 737-700IGW aircraft.
The project was completed in Basel, Switzerland, in close collaboration with Boeing Business Jets and the Aviation Consulting Group.
IDAIR provided a tailored high-end IFE, CMS, and connectivity solution. Integrated room controllers, remote tablets, and an elegant, intuitively designed graphical user interface allow the end-user to easily access and control the system.
The system provides a wide spectrum of functionalities for IFE and cabin management utilising a customised graphical user interface driving functions such as an HD media system providing audio-/video on demand, a passenger moving map system, light and window shade controls, customisable static and dynamic light scenarios, cabin temperature control, an interface to a water sterilization system, and the display of maintenance/status information for connected third party systems.
Full system control via wireless iOS devices enables passengers and crew to experience an intuitive high-end product solution from anywhere in the cabin.
Ayadi and Cumming said: "We are very proud that our innovative products were selected for this most prestigious VIP aircraft; we are confident that the users will be extremely happy with the innovation and technology provided. We would like to thank our valued customer, Boeing, and Aviation Consulting Group for the very successful team work".
Larry Hinebaugh, President of Aviation Consulting Group, said: "It was a pleasure working with a professional organization and I look forward to working on future projects together."
IDAIR is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Panasonic Avionics Corporation, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. IDAIR develops, manufactures and supplies IFE Communications and CMS for VIP aircraft as well as custom products for commercial airlines.
