The East Mediterranean Superyacht Forum, taking place in Athens, Greece on June 1, 2017, will see a panel of marina experts from across the Med and further afield tackling the question of supply versus demand, as well as examining the opportunities there are for marina developers globally.
Getting to grips with marina-related issues will be Jeff Houlgrave at Marina Projects, Kemal Saatçıoğlu, CEO, D-Marin, Roberto Perocchio, Chairman of Icomia Marinas Group & President of Assomarinas Italy, Stavros Katsikadis, President, Greek Marinas Association, Paul Cook, General Manager, OneOcean Port Vell and Caroline Navarro, Sales & Marketing Manager, Grand Harbour Marina.
Many will also want to know what the East Med has to offer and what the restrictions are on chartering in the region. Captain Mark Souter from M/Y Guilty will reveal the best places for superyachts to visit and a panel representing Italy, Croatia, Spain and Greece will discuss chartering restrictions in Greece compared to other jurisdictions.
A panel of brokers, including Vassilis Fotilas at Fraser Yachts, Michel Chryssicopoulos, Partner at IYC and Dimitris Kyriazakos, Managing Director, Ekka will give their predictions for future superyacht sales. Later on, delegates can discuss the changing role of the yacht broker with Peter Custer, a Marine & Yachting Consultant, who is hosting a roundtable on the subject.
The East Mediterranean Superyacht Forum is jointly produced by Quaynote Communications, event and PR specialists to the superyacht industry, and Oceda SA, the Greek-based yacht services company managed by Jennifer Timinis, formerly of Hill Dickinson.
The organisers have announced the networking highlight of the day, which will be a drinks reception on the Veranda of the Presidential Suite overlooking the Acropolis at the Athens Plaza Hotel.
“This will be a fantastic finale to a unique event”, said Lorna Titley, Director at Quaynote. “We expect that the Forum will give people a real insight into what Greece and East Med has to offer.”
