The 2017 Beirut Art Fair will host works from 50 galleries from around the world, showcasing diverse creations from established and emerging artists.
Now in its eighth edition, the fair runs from September 21 to 24 at the Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center (BIEL) and will include the inaugural edition of the Beirut Design Fair.
The fair will offer thematic exhibitions, performances, round tables and an “outside the walls” programme called Beirut Art Week, presenting monumental artworks and installations exhibited in the streets and in the luxury shops of Beirut’s Central District.
The design fair will take place at the same time and in the same location as the art fair.
This event is dedicated to contemporary and vintage design furniture and objects, rather created in limited edition.
It will showcase the creations of leading international designers and galleries from Europe, US and the Middle East with more than 40 exhibitors expected from a dozen countries.
Following the success of the 2016 edition that brought together 45 galleries from 20 countries, and received more than 23,000 visitors, the 2017 art fair will feature the focal exhibition “Ourouba, The Eye of Lebanon” by London-based curator Rose Issa, an expanded Revealing by SGBL section, the 6th Byblos Bank Award, and a VIP programme that gives access to the best Lebanese art collections.
PARTNER HOTEL
Le Gray Beirut is the official hotel partner for both the events and will offer a special rate for guests, including VIP passes to attend the fair, and will run a shuttle service between the hotel and the fair.
Also, the main artwork from the art week will be displayed in front of the hotel where the inauguration will take place.
Le Gray Beirut is located in the heart of Beirut in Martyrs’ Square, close to the business district and near to the city’s prime attractions.
Further to recent renovations completed in April this year, the hotel now features 103 rooms and suites, a stunning new lobby lounge, a screening room, and a number of event facilities, including The Atrium - an exhibition and art venue.
The hotel also boasts two Presidential Suites that share the fifth floor and encompass private terraces, a rooftop restaurant, a health club and Spa, and gym.
