Autumn 2017
Lufthansa Technik will be at the Dubai Airshow demonstrating its unrivalled expertise
With its new facility in Dubai South running at a brisk pace, Lufthansa Technik will be present at the 2017 Dubai Airshow promoting itself as a partner of choice in the Middle East for all maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) needs.
“The support for new aircraft types such as the Airbus A350 XWB and the Boeing 747-8 as well as the BoardConnect IFE solution by Lufthansa Systems are a few highlights of our Dubai Airshow appearance,” comments Wolfgang Reinert, Head of Media Relations. “Drawing from the full range of aircraft, engine and component services, our composite repairs, known as airframe related components (ARC), and the Cyclean engine wash are two of our customer-oriented, highly efficient MRO solutions that will be emphasised at the exhibition.”
He continues: “Lufthansa Technik is an established provider of choice for green aircraft completions, covering business jets as well as the narrow-body and wide-body aircraft families of both Airbus and Boeing.
“As an acknowledged partner for even the most complex cabin work, Lufthansa Technik, with currently three completions in parallel, is leading the way for the Boeing 747-8 and is the first reputable provider for future A380 completions.”
In May this year, Lufthansa Technik inaugurated its state-of-the-art Middle East facility in the Aviation District at Dubai South in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and chairman of the Emirates Group, Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, and Guenter Rauer, Consul General of Germany in Dubai.
AUDIT SUCCESS
Ahead of the inauguration, Lufthansa Technik Middle East (LTME) was successfully audited by the Federal Aviation Office of Germany and various customers from the region, and different parts had already been repaired on-site, such as thrust reversers, inlet cowls and radomes.
Al Zaffin commented that the Aviation District was pleased to engage with a leading global player like Lufthansa Technik.
He said Dubai was progressively building an aviation ecosystem that will match the best in the world in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed and he was certain that Lufthansa Technik will become a “powerful player on the aviation landscape at Dubai South”.
Ziad Al Hazmi, CEO Lufthansa Technik Middle East, said the inauguration was a major milestone within the German giant’s business strategy for this important region and that LTME had already started receiving high interest regarding its new capabilities from different commercial aircraft operators based in the Middle East.
“It makes us very proud to be the first company to run operations at the aerospace supply chain in the Dubai South Aviation District,” he said. “Having a key presence in the Aviation District has put us in a prime position as a leader in the regional maintenance, repair and overhaul business.”
As a result of joint discussions with customers, LTME’s capabilities are being increased for further components. LTME currently offers ARC support, AOG (aircraft-on-ground) support, landing gear and engine and engine wash services and a local material support desk. The material pool has been extended and now covers parts and components for the Boeing 787, 777 and the Airbus A320 and A350. Further evaluation of additional capabilities is ongoing depending on other customer requirements. LTME’s other site at Dubai International Airport remains operational.
Lufthansa Technik will be at Stand 1156.
