111-m Amels concept makes waves

Dutch luxury yacht builder Amels showed off a seven-deck 111-m superyacht concept at last month’s Monaco Yacht Show.

The 111-metre Pollux is an Amels Full Custom concept whose exteriors are designed by H2 Yacht Design. The concept appeared as a spectacular scale model at the yacht show, which ran from September 27 to 30.

The 4,750 GRT yacht will have a Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) compliant platform.

H2 Yacht Design Director Jonny Horsfield says: “Our ambition was a design that drew on the Amels DNA and heritage, but didn’t simply reproduce existing details. We have looked forward to the future design direction of the Amels fleet, whilst maintaining a timeless look that captures the pinnacle of Amels yacht building.”

H2 Yacht Design carefully proportioned the design to allow for the large aft decks and the large swimming pool on main deck. Long sweeping lines are highlighted in the sophisticated tonal paint scheme with metallic silver and jet black gloss superstructure with high-polish stainless steel grill and cloud white hull. Sharp surfacing and edges play with light. The upper aft decks appear to float, adding lightness to the visual weight of the design.

Amels Design Manager Hans Konings comments: “Our top team of yacht building experts has long experience collaborating with world-renowned designers and architects. We have a deep understanding of shipbuilding and our strong connections with classification societies and flag states. However you imagine your Amels Full Custom yacht, you can be sure of the most advanced design and engineering with the absolute highest Amels quality.”

From the sun deck pool forward to the large firepit outdoor lounge on sun deck aft, Pollux’s 20 guests can enjoy panoramic sea vistas. The 47 crew plus captain can discreetly access all parts of the vessel, providing the very highest levels of service, entertainment and hospitality.
