Sporting a sublime design, cutting-edge technology and pioneering character, Sunreef Supreme 68 Power Athena makes an imposing presence
Sunreef Yachts, a leading manufacturer of custom-made luxury catamarans, wowed the recent Dubai International Boat Show visitors with two exclusive premieres.
Sunreef Yachts celebrated the world premiere of its latest model – the 40 Open Sunreef Power, a dynamic day cruiser, while the shipyard’s Sunreef Supreme 68 Power Athena made her first UAE appearance.
Offering 300 sq m of space, a superyacht flybridge and spectacular aft garage, Sunreef Supreme 68 Power Athena is an ultramodern motor catamaran. She takes her name from the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, mathematics and arts.
The yacht does draw a lot of inspiration from her patroness’s versatility. The boat’s sublime design, cutting-edge technology and pioneering character all reflect her universal spirit.
The Sunreef Supreme 68 Power Athena is a new type of power catamaran, representing an innovative and creative philosophy of yacht designing and engineering. Her exterior look is bold, sporty and futuristic. With a 10.5 m beam and sharp lines, her presence is imposing.
The architecture of this yacht model revisits the way catamarans have been built so far. Her radical design allowed to create an immense saloon surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass – a space opening wide both onto the cockpit and passageways. The 65-sq-m interior deck is vast enough to place a beamy master cabin in the bow with access to the front terrace – a layout solution that gained Athena’s owner’s attention.
The master cabin occupying the whole front part of the deckhouse is fitted with a king-size bed and offers a panoramic view. The owner’s realm also features a large desk, ample storage, a dressing room and a master bathroom with a magic glass wall.
Athena’s saloon was given a soothing and elegant design, combining shades of light oak with glossy white and embossed Galuchat-style leather finishing. Placed amidships is a vast lounge with a U-shaped sofa facing a 65’’ TV. This central seating area is surrounded by an onyx-clad bar to portside and a coffee table to starboard.
Athena features an immense flybridge topped with an elegant bimini. This scenic area is fitted with a mist sprayer, a bar, a barbecue, a large table for eight and mattresses to obtain a vast dining and lounging space of 65 sq m. The yacht’s big front terrace is a prime place to relax on the large sun pads or to enjoy a bath in the Jacuzzi.
The boat is equipped with an aft garage – featured on the Sunreef Supreme 68. This voluminous space allows to conveniently store the 445 Williams tender, a kayak, a diving compressor, lockers and additional freezers. The garage door, when lowered, creates an aft platform ideal for water sports.
Athena’s main navigation station is placed on the flybridge. The yacht features a powerful Volvo IPS 800 system for a maximum of manoeuvrability and optimised performance. An additional joystick and aft cameras are installed to ease the mooring in crowded marinas. With 7,000 litres of fuel capacity, Athena enjoys all the autonomy she needs.
40 Open Sunreef Power
Naturally balanced, the 40 Open Sunreef Power doesn’t require stabilising systems and provides a fast and safe navigation experience.
The 40 Open Sunreef Power is equipped with dynamic inboard propulsion ranging from 2x425 HP to 2x1100 HP to offer an impressive speed potential of over 60 kts. Taking speed to a higher level, the hydrofoil-equipped 40 Open Sunreef Power H is offered in multiple outboard engine configurations from 2x627 HP to 4x400 HP.
The innovative retractable hydrofoil system implemented lifts the boat above the water when cruising above 25 kts. As a result, the 40 Open Sunreef Power H can glide above the waves to attain speeds of up to 60 kts in foilborne mode.
A beamy alternative for classic day boats, the 40 Open Sunreef Power represents a new level of onboard comfort.
