Chopard displayed a stunning selection of exquisite high jewellery and timepieces at the opening night of the Abu Dhabi Festival 2018 recently in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event took place at the luxurious VIP Lounge, Emirates Palace.
Along with its long standing partner Al Manara International Jewellery, Chopard showcased delicate L’Heure du Diamant timepieces along with some Happy Hearts and Imperiale pieces. A special range for gentlemen comprising the impeccable L.U.C Time Traveler One and the LUC GMT One, the distinctive model L.U.C regulator and the L.U.C Perpetual twin, endowed with the mechanical excellence of Chopard complications was also on show.
Chopard is a family-owned company with a resolute emphasis on optimally integrated production. The stages involved in crafting L.U.C watches and high jewellery models are all performed in Chopard’s various production sites in Geneva, Fleurier and Pforzheim. Movement decoration, product design, gold smelting, stamping and machining of cases, movement components and bracelets, as well as traditional hand-crafted decoration, surface treatment, gemsetting, polishing, assembly, adjustment and quality control, are all mastered by Chopard in-house and play a role in the making of each watch, jewellery (the fine jewellery is produced mainly in Pforzheim) or high jewellery creation.
Chopard has built its reputation on iconic collections such as “Happy Diamonds”, “Happy Sport” and “Mille Miglia”. The firm is also highly recognised for its high jewellery creations, fine watchmaking, and manufacture expertise, expressed in the L.U.C collection.
Abu Dhabi Festival is the emirate’s leading annual celebration of artistic distinction. With its participation, Chopard has renewed its long-term partnership with the festival.
Chopard also awarded four leading international figures with specially-designed trophies, in gratifying appreciation to their pioneering, lifetime contribution towards arts and culture. They included: The late comic legend Abdulhussain Abdulredha for his memorable and beloved work; Philip Glass for his iconic contributions to the 20th and 21st century music; Music Director of the Royal Opera House London and Principal Conductor of Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Sir Antonio Pappano; Prolific composer and conductor, winner of international awards, including five Grammys, Krzysztof Penderecki.
In 2018, the festival celebrates the ‘Year of Zayed’ marking 100 years since the birth of the UAE’s founding father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Tolerance, the Abu Dhabi Festival 15th edition is running March 8 to March 30, including a series of performances by acclaimed international artists at the renowned Emirates Palace.
