The jewellery sale by Il Ponte Casa D’aste Dal, on November 14 and 15 in the halls of Palazzo Crivelli, Milan, will include rare precious stones, international brands and collections from prominent Italian families.
To be highlighted among the most precious gems is a 9 carat cushion-cut Kashmiri sapphire with excellent saturation, (lot 977, estimate €130,000 - €180,000) as well as various diamonds mounted on earrings, rings, brooches and necklaces.
Van Cleef & Arpels sign the diamond earrings of lot 982 (estimate €130,000 - €160.000) weighing about 30ct, of which the two pear-shaped centrals are virtually identical in size and clarity, confirming the high quality that characterises the production of the maison. The catalogue also features an important yellow gold ring with a heart-cut diamond of 10,23 ct (lot 981, estimate €220,000 - €280,000).
Many items come from prominent families such as the Doria Visconti di Modrone (lot 913 and 917), the descendants of Gabriele D'Annunzio (lots 783, 784, 851, 871), the entrepreneur of Alexandria Artaki Gurdjian, international jet setter and husband of the actress Anna Maria Rosati. Gold and enamel parures, diamond brooches, minaudières of fine workmanship, bracelets, rings and earrings unique for their refinement and historical significance, all of which are products of a high-level jewellery of the early 20th century.
Among the most sought-after objects are the micromosaic depicting "The Windmill or Landscape with the Wedding of Isaac and Rebecca ", given by Pope Gregory XVI to a Roman patrician family (lot 983, estimate €19,000 - €20,000); a rare pair of Buccellati silver vases dated 1939 (lot 978, estimate €37,000 - €42,000) and an enchanting antique brooch bearing the punches of Wolfers Freres, official jeweller of the Belgian royal family.
Lastly, a collection by Di Gregorio, a new Italian jewellery brand, much appreciated at an international level alongside the great classics such as Bulgari, Cartier and Tiffany.
