Autumn 2018
The airshow’s conference programme is a major feature of the event and provides a valuable forum for discussion and debate.
The day before the show, the Royal Bahraini Air Force is hosting the second biennial Manama Air Power Symposium. Bringing together air force chiefs and leading experts from across the region, it will address emerging issues under the theme of “Air Power Applied in Networked Coalition and Joint Environments”.
On day two, a dedicated Airport Conference will focus on: “Into the Future: Challenges and Opportunities for Gulf region Airports and Airlines”. This event, targeted at the region’s fast-growing airport infrastructure industry, brings together regional and global leaders to discuss their experiences and expertise. Prof Rigas Doganis, a leading international aviation consultant and strategy advisor to airlines, airports, banks and governments, will give the opening address.
The show will also host a Women In Aviation conference on the third day. This will provide a much-deserved platform for women in the industry to discuss issues affecting career development and to identify solutions.
There are a number of events to enable participants to engage with VIP guests in a more informal setting. On the first day, HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the BIAS Supreme Organising Committee, will host a welcome ceremony at the show and a gala dinner in the evening.
