Fraser, the largest luxury yacht service provider in the world, has announced the sale of nine yachts within the past three weeks.
The crowning sale was M/Y Areti by Stuart Larsen. At 85 m, she is the third largest yacht sold this year and was on the market only for under nine months.
Launched in 2017 by Lurssen with design by Winch, Areti is the perfect combination of functionality, performance and comfort.
The yachts closed by Fraser exemplify a remarkably wide range of builders, vessel sizes and hull types. The unique 32 m S/Y Whitehawk, built by O’Lie Neilsen in 1978 and refit in 2016, was sold by Georges Bourgoignie. Innovative and visually striking 26.2 m M/Y Kanga was built by Wally Yachts in 2012 and sold by Alexander Vaal. S/Y Sovereign Sea, a 36.1 m high-performance sloop, was built by Alloy Yachts in 1995 and sold by Georges Bourgoignie. The 2007 Golden Yachts-built 51.8 m M/Y Victory was sold through an in-house deal by Vassilis Fotilas.
Magnificently regal, 39.4 m M/Y Lady Azul was built by Heesen and sold by Jan Jaap Minnema. Minnema also sold the 66.7 m M/Y Golden Shadow, which was only on the market for five months. Built by Sunseeker in 2011 the 33.9 m M/Y Ira was sold by David Legrand. Finally, 29.7 m S/Y Blue Papillon II was sold by Dennis Frederiksen.
In addition to these nine remarkable sales, Fraser also closed two further deals through its San Diego office in the past two weeks. The 10.3 m Regulator Chasin Tail was purchased by a long-time client of Patrick McConnell for use as a tow-behind tender and John Gladstone sold the 16.8 m Hinckley Solutions.
The positive run of sales came during The Superyacht Show in Barcelona at One Ocean Port Vell where Fraser had an impressive six yachts on display ranging from 30 m to 60 m. The client-focused event (from May 8 to 11) is in its second year and attracting a good number of clients, many of whom are in the area for the Barcelona Grand Prix, also taking place this weekend.
The first day of the show also saw the presentation of the Richard Earp Award to Vassilis Fotilas, a sales broker with Fraser. Richard was renowned for his gentlemanly conduct and fair negotiations, valuable attributes that should be encouraged in this growing and competitive industry.
A panel of judges from across the industry reviews the nominations and gives the award in recognition of a broker who demonstrates the same attributes as Richard’s personality and work ethic: transparency, fair and ethical behaviour, charisma and style.
Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser, said: “These sales are the results of hard work by our brokers and the whole team all around the world. We also sold a further two yachts at the start of April proving that spring really is a perfect time for a new owner to purchase a yacht and be cruising on her by the start of the summer. That’s why we’ve set up the Lybra Superyacht Show to enable more clients to visit yachts at this peak time. And it’s not just our sales team that has been doing well, we’ve also signed up three new yachts to our management services this week and our charter brokers have had a good start to the year as well and following the Myba Charter Show last week our charter fleet have had a good number of enquiries and bookings made.”
Fraser has over 160 employees and 20 offices around the globe. Its services include yacht sales, charter, yacht management, crew and construction, specialising in yachts over 30 m.
Fraser is part of the Azimut-Benetti Group, the largest manufacturer of luxury yachts and the world's largest private group in the yachting sector.
