Geneva-based haute horologist Roger Dubuis celebrated the Middle East launch of the latest iterations of its powerful Excalibur Huracán collection with a stunning reveal at the exclusive Nikki Privé in Dubai.
The glittering evening saw 150 privileged guests, including members of the press, influencers, local celebrities and clients, being treated to an immersive experience.
The guests marvelled at the mechanical inventiveness that goes into creating the high-powered partnership of two superbrands, Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Roger Dubuis - a momentous union of innovative mechanics and extraordinary watchmaking, that gave birth to the iconic Lamborghini-inspired Huracán series.
The powerful raging mechanics of Lamborghini set the pace, with the invitees being greeted by a rip-roaring line-up of supercars on arrival, as they made their way to the red carpet. It was a dazzling setting as the guests found themselves immersed into the fascinatingly innovative world of Roger Dubuis, with the serial innovator’s watchmaking experience coming alive all around them, interspersed with a stunning display of some of the manufacture's novelties and most iconic watches.
The invitees were also treated to a stirring interpretation of the codes of the turbo-charged Excalibur Huracán collection, by renowned local street artist Dina Saadi, who brought alive the soaring spirit of the high-powered partnership with a mural that truly reflected the passion and creativity that are the driving force of the two brands.
The evening also featured a fascinating performance by beatbox supremo Ray who had the gathering spellbound with his vocal high jinks accompanied by singer Sara Tarabulsi.
The stars of the glittering evening were indeed the Excalibur Huracán and the Excalibur Huracán Performante, with the unmistakable DNA of the brand's larger than life image running through every line. A technical triumph, the Excalibur Huracán offers a skeleton automatic RD630 calibre that stands out impressively from even Roger Dubuis’ catalogue of excellence – featuring a 12° angled balance wheel harking to the Lamborghini Squadra Corse, and a 360° oscillating weight inspired by the rim of the Huracán supercar.
Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur Huracán and Excalibur Huracán Performante embody the ongoing search for perfection that drives the incomparable Maison to ever greater heights. Expressions of Roger Dubuis’ incomparable art, its technical skill and aesthetic sophistication, these two revolutionary timepieces are the latest expression in modern horology – clockwork designed to challenge the meaning of time itself in a future of today.
Renowned across the world of haute horology as serial innovators, who constantly disrupt the rules of the fine watchmaking craft, Roger Dubuis has kept turning heads with their path-breaking, larger than life approach to watchmaking design and development, while regularly creating superlative and iconic fine watches that set the standards for the competition.
