Shoppers looking for Valentine’s Day gifts should check out Bulgari’s new Bvlgari-Bvlgari Cuore collection which comes “in the shape of true love”.
Cuore, the Italian word for heart, beats with the musicality of the language as it represents the lifeblood of the country’s beauty, says Bulgari.
As one of the oldest known motifs, found throughout 2,700 years of history, the heart is one of the symbols of Rome, the eternal city of love.
As Bulgari points out, it is in Italy that love has inspired eminent works of art, architecture and literature such as Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The new Bvlgari-Bvlgari Cuore collection curves with this deep-rooted sentiment, featuring two pink-gold pendants, a sautoir and a ring with “flip” sides to its heart, reflecting the different ways in which love can reveal itself.
Since ancient times, it is believed that the mind is the centre of logic and the heart the centre of emotion, says the famous Italian jewelry and luxury goods brand. .
The classic heart shape was born over centuries of evolving symbolism and ever since a winged Cupid pierced his arrow’s target, the heart evokes a symbol of the purest forms of love. The symbolic meaning has always stayed the same: in the heart, passion resides, it adds.
