As the official timekeeper to the 2015 International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup, Hublot has a larger than life presence on the scoreboards since the start of the competition in Australia and New Zealand.
The first luxury brand to invest in cricket, Hublot is visible on the stadium scoreboards and throughout the VIP areas to the prestigious event, which is held every four years.
National teams from 14 countries are participating in the competition, which kicked off on February 14 and will see 49 matches played over one-and-half months.
The tournament runs until March 29, with teams from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE, West Indies and Zimbabwe competing to be crowned world champions.
Hublot is particularly interested in the performance of its ambassador, the Captain of the Australian team, batsman Michael Clarke, for whom this World Cup marks a return to competitive cricket after a layoff due to a hamstring injury.
Clarke will play his first match on Saturday against Bangladesh, after his team humbled England in an opening match by 111 runs.
To commemorate the event, Hublot developed a Classic Fusion Chrono Cricket Watch, especially for fans.
A number of subtle details give the watch its unique character and the dial features four distinctive symbols directly associated with cricket; the hands on both counters are shaped like the cricket bat, which is reminiscent of a short paddle and made from willow and rattan, while at 12 o’clock on the dial, a triple applique in reference to the stumps, one of the two sets of three wooden poles placed on the wicket and defended on the field by the batsmen.
The case-back bears the exclusive symbol of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in transfer form on the sapphire crystal.
This assembly is rounded off by a red calfskin leather strap stitched on to the black rubber, with triple saddle stitching in the style of a cricket ball.
The watch is available and titanium and King Gold versions in limited editions of 250 and 100 pieces respectively.
