Private charter operator Royal Jet has awarded SR Technics a five-year contract to maintain, repair and overhaul its CFM56-7B engine fleet.
The CFM56-7B engines are currently in service on Royal Jet’s six luxurious Boeing Business Jet (B737-700 IGW) aircraft, which are used by the UAE carrier’s VIP guests.
The work on the engines will be carried out at SR Technics’s world renowned facilities at Zurich Airport, Switzerland.
The maintenance, repair and overhaul of the first of the 12 Royal Jet CFM engines began earlier this month.
Commenting on the contract win, SR Technics’ CEO André Wall says: “The fact that a carrier that puts luxury, quality and unsurpassed reliability at the top of its agenda chose SR Technics as its MRO provider is significant. Royal Jet’s guests pay for a truly exceptional service. They expect the pinnacle of performance and reliability and the highest benchmarks in terms of safety. So of course we are pleased that Royal Jet has entrusted SR Technics to deliver that level of quality competitively. We now look forward to building on our collaboration in future.”
Captain Patrick Gordon, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jet, comments: “Royal Jet is recognised globally for its standard of luxury, reliability, confidentiality and safety in the private aviation industry. We are proud to only partner with suppliers who provide a first class service. The extensive technical audit and thorough tender process highlighted the superior offering from SR Technics. We look forward to working together on many future projects.”
The Middle East’s foremost private charter company, Royal Jet is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi Aviation and Presidential Flight, the royal flight service.
Royal Jet is chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who also serves as a minister in the UAE Federal Cabinet.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Royal Jet operates from its fixed based operations (FBO)/VIP terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport and is the world’s largest single operator of Boeing Business Jets (BBJs).
