More than 100 Asian art curators from premier museums worldwide will be attending New York’s 2015 Asian art week which gets under way this Friday.
The nine-day Asia Week New York extravaganza features 42 specially-curated shows by gallerists from around the globe, 25 auction sales and numerous museum exhibitions and special events all over Manhattan and the metropolitan area.

The curators, many of whom will be accompanied by their donors, represent the following museums: The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, The Rubin Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, China Institute, Asia Society, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Portland Museum, The American Museum of Natural History, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Honolulu Academy of Arts, The Norton Museum of Art, The Princeton University Art Museum, The Harvard Museums, Newark Museum, The Samuel P Harn Museum-University of Florida, Japan Society, The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, The Indianapolis Museum of Art, The Burke Foundation, The Cleveland Museum, The Spencer Museum-University of Kansas, The Smart Museum-University of Chicago, The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Berkeley Art Museum, The MacLean Collection, The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, The Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
Also invited were Asian art curators from The British Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Musée Guimet, The Musée Cernuschi in Paris, The Museum Rietberg in Zurich, The Shanghai Museum, The Palace Museum in Beijing, and The Miho Museum in Japan.
The collaboration of 42 top-tier international Asian art specialists, five major auction houses - Bonhams, Christie's, Doyle New York, iGavel, and Sotheby's - and 22 museums and Asian cultural institutions, Asia Week New York is a week-long celebration filled with a non-stop schedule of simultaneous gallery open houses, Asian art auctions as well as numerous museum exhibitions, lectures, symposia, and special events.
Participants from Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Switzerland, and the US will unveil an extraordinary array of treasures from China, India, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, Tibet, Nepal, Japan, and Korea.

The event is organised by the Asia Week New York Association, a non-profit trade membership organisation, and sponsored by the Aman Group.
