Officine Panerai has officially opened of its first boutique in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The new store was launched in collaboration with its partner Asia Jewellers and further consolidates the brand’s presence in one of the world’s high-end shopping destinations.
The new boutique, which had a soft opening a few months ago, is located in Moda Mall at the Bahrain World Trade Center (BWTC) and at the heart of Manama City.
Situated on the first floor of the mall, the new boutique is designed with a sophisticated rich interior which includes stunning Venetian walls, Italian furniture and a gold Calacatta marble stone floor; all of which offers a welcoming luxury feel to all its visitors.
The façade décor features a back lit watch mechanism which is a new decoration installed only in Dubai Panerai boutique.
Milvin George, Panerai’s regional managing director, comments: “We are delighted to launch our first boutique in Bahrain in such a significant location and in cooperation with one of the leading dealers, Asia Jewellers. This will strengthen our core mission to be closer to our existing and potential customers in the kingdom.
“The new boutique is a significant part of our expansion plan across the GCC and we are happy to mark this milestone which will enable us to reach the residents, the commercial community and tourists that frequently visit this prestigious mall.”
The design of the boutique, with a floor space of around 27 sq m, is emblematic of all Officine Panerai boutiques, in which each detail recreates a classic Italian style environment inspired from the sea; the main distinctive element of the brand.
From the historical supply of highly specialised instruments to the Italian Navy, to the current sponsorship of the most important international circuit of regattas reserved for classic yachts, Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge; the sea has always played a leading role in the Florentine company’s history.
The boutique interior evokes this link through the use of teak wood, brushed steel, porthole-shaped windows, and wavy walls all of which recall the shape of the most elegant sailing yachts.
Founded in 1860 in Florence as a workshop, retail shop and Watchmaking School, for many years Officine Panerai supplied precision instruments to the Italian Navy, particularly items relating to the requirements of the special submarine forces. The designs developed in this period – among which were the Luminor and Radiomir watches – were covered by the provisions of military secrecy for several years and their launch on the international market took place after the acquisition of the brand by the Richemont group in 1997. Today in its manufacture at Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Officine Panerai develops and produces its own movements and watches. A unique synthesis of Italian design and history with Swiss manufacturing technology, Panerai watches are sold through an exclusive network of distributors and in its own-brand boutiques throughout the world.
