Dubai International Boat Show 2020, the premier and most established boat show in the Middle East, is sailing to a new location this year to provide a more stimulating experience to exhibitors and visitors.
"Be ready to experience a different level of energy at our new home - Dubai Harbour," say organisers of the 28th DIBS, which will be held from March 10 to 14.
Whether you want to buy a boat, discover luxury yachts and superyachts, explore the latest diving and aquatic innovations or ride the sparkling waves, DIBS is the definitive event for luxury and lifestyle, they say. Dive MENA Expo, the only dedicated show for the UAE and GCC diving community, is co-located with DIBS.
Apart from luxurious superyachts, there will be ritzy sailboats, supercharged aqua bikes, underwater sledges, the latest diving gear and deep-diving submersibles and many other marine technological innovations and equipment.
The impressive line-up of superyacht builders taking part at the show includes Benetti, CRN, Feadship, Fincantieri, Lürssen, Sanlorenzo and Oceanco.
Some of the fascinating events at the show include:
VriThink's Night Out: The second VriThink Night Out will take place on March 11 and will be hosted by the trend platform VriThink. During this stimulating evening, the presenters will show 20 slides and discuss each slide in 20 seconds. The event offers designers, naval architects and boat builders the chance to show their fresh and creative work, ideas or concepts. This could be a finished yacht, a new design, a trend or any idea you feel our world needs to know about.
Dubai Fishing Championship 2020: Organised by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), this contest is a key attraction of the Dubai International Boat Show. The annual event allows one to compete with some of the region's finest anglers. With serious prize money up for grabs, competition is very serious. Those taking part in the contest could use rod and reel or a hand-line, and fish from a boat. It is open to all the locals, expatriates and visitors in the UAE.
ESS 2020: The Equipment Supplies & Services (ESS) 2020 groups together exhibitors specialising in a wide range of marine products essential to the supply and servicing of the leisure marine industry. Ranging from satellite navigational systems to anchors, deck fixtures and fittings to engines, ESS caters to both end consumers and trade buyers, making it the largest marine equipment event in the Middle East.
Dive Mina 2020: If diving gear and gadgets are on your shopping list, then Dive Mena is the place for you. You can source everything from diving gear, equipment, deep-sea diving electronics and the latest technologies that you need here.
Captain's Evening: This exclusive networking event for captains will be held at the Dubai Boat Show on March 13. All captains are welcome to attend, say organisers.
STEAMathalon: This sustainable initiative aims at creating a "Yacht of the Future" powered by AI for smart city living. This programme encourages young and talented minds from various schools to integrate science, technology, engineering, innovation and AI to come up with sustainable solutions and prepare for the future.
