Winter 2020
Bentley Motors, the British luxury automotive manufacturer, and Behbehani Brothers, a leader in the automotive business in Bahrain, unveiled the all-new Flying Spur, the ultimate luxury Grand Touring sedan at a grand ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bahrain Bay.
The spectacular reveal was attended by distinguished guests, management and teams from Bentley Motors, Behbehani Brothers, Shirazi family and Bentley enthusiasts.
Neil Harris, Area Sales Manager, Bentley Motors, Middle East Africa and India, said: “The new Flying Spur is a leap forward in combining state-of-the-art high technology with a modern ultra-luxurious interior and exterior. We are very excited and thrilled to bring the world’s most luxury sedan the all-new ‘Flying Spur’ in the New Year to our enthusiasts in Bahrain. The third-generation new Flying Spur is a showcase of Bentley’s contemporary sculptural design language while bearing the hallmarks of the Crewe-based company’s unique DNA.”
At the unveiling ceremony, Steven Hill, Group General Manager at Behbehani Brothers, said: “As strategic retail partners of Bentley Motors, we are proud to kick-off the New Year on a high note by welcoming the all-new ‘Flying Spur’ as another feather in our cap of premier global brands under our flagship.
“Our state-of-the-art brand new facilities, fully equipped workshops and trained team of professionals, set us apart as pioneers in the automotive industry. As one of the oldest and preferred automotive dealers in Bahrain, our strategy, at Behbehani, is to forge ahead again this year and beyond as the ‘one stop’ shop meeting all motoring needs for several leading international brands.”
Designed, engineered and handcrafted at the Home of Bentley in Crewe, England, the new Flying Spur is built for both driving and to be driven in. It perfectly combines a unique blend of limousine luxury and sports-sedan performance. Redesigned from the ground up, the new Flying Spur pushes the boundaries of both technology and craftsmanship to deliver segment-defining levels of performance and refinement.
The new Flying Spur is powered by a reworked six-litre W12 that delivers 626 horsepower, which is enough to propel the giant car from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and onto a top speed of 207 mph – 14 mph up from the outgoing model. Besides, the most elegant car showcases Bentley’s modern sculptural design language through elegant yet muscular proportions, and the marque’s latest generation of unique, cut-crystal effect LED matrix headlamps and new wrap-around rear lamps with ‘B’ motifs.
For the first time, newly-designed for Bentley’s second century is a ‘Flying B’ mascot which adorns the nose of the new Flying Spur for the first time in modern memory, rising from beneath a beautifully modern Bentley badge denoting the precious quality of the model. The car is the most advanced luxury Grand Touring sedan available today, offering a host of cutting-edge technologies to deliver a driving experience of extraordinary breadth and capability not seen in this segment before.
At the heart of the new Flying Spur is an enhanced version of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12, mated to a dual-clutch eight-speed transmission for faster, smoother gear changes. This new TSI engine delivers 635 PS (626 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb.ft.), 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 333 km/h.
Its long wheelbase means the new Flying Spur features a spacious and luxurious cabin that offers peerless comfort and refinement. As well as an extensive list of single and dual veneer wood options, the sedan offers both Bentley’s new fluted leather seating and the unique Mulliner Driving Specification diamond quilting on the seats and an automotive world-first: three-dimensional diamond quilted leather door inserts.
