Phenom-enal!

Embraer Executive Jets delivered 73 Phenom 300 jets in 2014, making it the most delivered business jet in the world, according to a report by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).

Deliveries of this aircraft reached a total of 60 in 2013, also the largest number for that year.

“We are very grateful for our customers’ preference for the Phenom 300,” says Marco Túlio Pellegrini, President and CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “This achievement further reaffirms our commitment to deliver the highest level of customer support and services.”

In just five years of operation, the Phenom 300 fleet has reached the 250 mark, having accrued a 57 per cent market share in the light jet category, says Embraer, adding that the aircraft is in operation in more than 20 countries and has accumulated close to 200,000 flight hours.

The Phenom 300 is one of the fastest light jets, having recently established a National Aeronautic Association (NAA) cross-country speed record in the US, from Bellingham, Washington, to Albany, New York.

It has high speed cruise of 453 knots and a six-occupant range of 1,971 nautical miles (3,650 km) with NBAA IFR (National Business Aviation Association instrument flight rules) reserves. With the best climb and field performance in its class, the Phenom 300 costs less to operate and maintain than its peers, says Embraer. The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000 ft, powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines with 3,200 pounds of thrust each.

The Phenom 300 offers a spacious cabin, designed in partnership with BMW Group DesignworksUSA, and is said to have the largest baggage compartment in its category. The largest windows in the class deliver abundant natural lighting in the cabin as well as in the aft private lavatory. The comfort of the seats, with recline and full movement capability, is enhanced by the best pressurisation among light jets (6,600 ft maximum cabin altitude), says Embraer. The jet features distinct temperature zones for pilots and passengers, a wardrobe and refreshment centre, voice and data communications options, and an entertainment system.

The pilot-friendly cockpit enables single-pilot operation and offers the advanced Prodigy Touch Flight Deck.

Meanwhile in April this year, Embraer’s Legacy 500 midsize jet made its debut at the 2015 Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace) in Shanghai, its first public appearance in China since entering in service last October.

Movie star Jackie Chan, who is also the Embraer Executive Jets Brand Ambassador, was the first customer of the Legacy 650 in China. To date, his airplane has flown over 930 hours, accomplishing 100 per cent schedule reliability since its delivery in February 2012.  In October 2013, Chan announced he would be the Chinese launch customer of the Legacy 500, with expected delivery this year.

Headquartered in Brazil, Embraer is one of the world’s leading executive jet manufacturers, having entered the business aviation market in 2000 with the Legacy jet, which led to the launch of Embraer Executive Jets in 2005.

Embraer Executive Jets’ portfolio consists of the entry-level Phenom 100E and Phenom 300 light jet, the Legacy 500 midsize and Legacy 450 mid-light, the super midsize Legacy 600 and large Legacy 650, and the ultra-large Lineage 1000E.

LEGACY 500

The Legacy 500 has the best-in-class six-foot flat-floor cabin, which is comparable to those of some aircraft in the super midsize category, says Embraer. Eight club seats may be berthed into four beds for complete rest in a cabin altitude of 6,000 ft.

It is the first midsize business jet with digital flight controls, based on fly-by-wire technology, featuring side sticks. A Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite allows graphical flight planning, and it has options like paperless operations capability, auto brakes, and the E2VS (Embraer Enhanced Vision System), which includes a head up display (HUD) with the enhanced vision system (EVS).

The Legacy 500 is capable of flying at 45,000 ft. It has a range of 3,125 nautical miles (5,788 km) with four passengers, including NBAA IFR fuel reserves, which enables it to fly non-stop from Dubai in the UAE to Zurich in Switzerland.

LEGACY 650

The large Legacy 650 carries up to 14 passengers in three distinct cabin zones, and premium acoustic comfort. In addition to its ‘best-in-class’ galley and a fully accessible in-flight baggage compartment, the aircraft may be configured with up to two lavatories. The jet features internet connectivity and the latest generation in full HD in-flight entertainment, with Honeywell’s Ovation Select entertainment and cabin management system.

The jet features advanced navigation capabilities and the Honeywell Primus Elite avionics suite. The Legacy 650 has a range o f 3,900 nautical miles (7,223 km) with four passengers, with NBAA IFR fuel reserves, which means that the aircraft can fly non-stop from Dubai to Beijing in China.

LINEAGE 1000E

The ultra-large Lineage 1000E can carry up to 19 passengers in five cabin zones. The aircraft features the fully digital, high-definition, Honeywell Ovation Select entertainment and cabin management system, controlled with an iPad. A fully integrated media centre concentrates multiple media devices and video inputs, including game consoles, and delivers high-definition video and audio on a 5.1 surround sound system.

It has a range of 4,600 nautical miles (8,519 km) with eight passengers, including NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

Embraer Executive Jets will be present at the upcoming European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (Ebace 2015) which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland from May 19 to 21, at booth Z073 and the static display.
