Royal Jet was awarded the ‘Middle East’s Leading Private Jet Charter’ at the 2015 World Travel Awards Middle East edition, which was held in Dubai, UAE, earlier this month.
This is the eighth year running that the Abu Dhabi-based operator has received the award, which is voted for by travel and tourism professionals worldwide and recognises the commitment to excellence that the company has demonstrated over the past 12 months.
Fahad Wali, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Jet accepted the award during the presentation ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach on May 7.
Captain Patrick Gordon, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jet, said: “We are proud to once again be named the region’s leading private jet charter company. This accolade is thanks to our team of dedicated employees who work hard to ensure that our clients always receive a bespoke, luxury VIP experience and that Royal Jet remains at the forefront of the private aviation industry.”
In order to meet the growing demands of the industry, Royal Jet is undertaking a fleet replacement and expansion programme that will increase the fleet to 20 aircraft by the year 2020 at a cost of $700 million. The programme started in October 2014 and in the last seven months, Royal Jet has taken delivery of two Bombardier Global 5000 business jets and one Bombardier Learjet 60 XR business jet.
Royal Jet is currently the world's largest single Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) operator and operates 11 aircraft – six BBJs, two Bombardier Global 5000s, two Bombardier Learjets and one Gulfstream G300.
Royal Jet, the Middle East’s foremost private charter company, is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi Aviation, a publicly listed company on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, and Presidential Flight, the royal flight service. The copmany is chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who also serves as Minister in the UAE Federal Cabinet. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Royal Jet operates from its fixed base operations (FBO)/VIP terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The private charter company is a founder member of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) and a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), MedLink (a service of MedAir Inc) and the Flight Safety Foundation.
