Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC), the specialist in Airbus Corporate Jet VIP cabin completions and customised nose-to-tail services, has delivered a new lightweight ACJ319 VVIP cabin.
This technical revolution, fulfilling an Asian customer’s expectations in terms of range and comfort, is based on the latest wireless technologies and a totally new creative design, according to ACJC, which revealed the news at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (Ebace).
The lightweight VVIP cabin was delivered on time to an undisclosed customer in Asia, who requested to fly from Southern Asia to Los Angeles. ACJC exceeded its customer’s expectation by delivering a VIP cabin 10 per cent lighter than contractual commitment, while assuring the very high quality of the cabin, both in terms of comfort and systems.
This achievement is the result of a wonderful alchemy of innovations in communication systems, artistic design and cabinet making, associated with ACJC’s closeness to Airbus for optimising the ACJ319’s performance.
The cabin offers wireless system architecture, based on a brand new full internet protocol (IP) and wi-fi configuration, driving the cabin management system (CMS) and the in-flight entertainment (IFE). In addition the cabin-lining width is reduced, offering a wider cabin and a new perception of space. Innovation comes also from the digital tablets, offering state-of-the-art functions such as the streaming of music and video via a new full high-definition (HD) audio and video on demand (AVOD) system.
Able to welcome 15 passengers, this modern and elegant cabin, based on a refined interior design, offers a double office and a lounge at the front, followed by a large dining area, and then a VIP bedroom and en-suite bathroom with a square shower.
“This lightweight but full comfort cabin was a great challenge that we used to meet the customer’s requirements, such as the VIP tables in the dining area whose stands are composite-based, combining futuristic design and lightness,” says Sylvain Mariat, Head of ACJC’s Creative Design Studio.
“The best proof of ACJC’s expertise and innovative spirit was the compliment of our customer when he entered his ACJ, telling us that his cabin was a realisation of the 3D artistic views showed at the beginning of the story,” says ACJC General Manager Joël Frugier. “The customer had before him the cabin he had dreamt of, confirming that ACJC was the natural choice for his ACJ,” he concludes.
Dedicated to providing quality cabin outfitting and innovative packages of customised nose-to-tail services for Airbus ACJ family aircraft, the ACJC is small enough to provide personal service to customers, with around 260 employees, but is also backed by the full resources of its shareholder, Airbus, the world's largest manufacturer of modern airliners.
Based in Toulouse, France, Airbus Corporate Jet Centre is now the world leader for ACJ319/ACJ320 VIP cabin completion, having delivered 28 VIP cabins to prestigious customers in Asia, Europe and the Middle East (including 11 delivered by the workforce when it was part of EADS Sogerma).
The ACJC also specialises in tailor-made services and maintenance for ACJs, including the A320, A330 and A340 families. In 2009 the company launched VIP Pass, a package of nose-to-tail services developed for executive and private operators of Airbus corporate jets.
The 2105 edition of the Ebace is being held at the Palexpo centre in Geneva, Switzerland, and runs until May 21.
