Summer 2015
Legendary piano-maker Carl Bechstein teamed up with silver specialist Robbe & Berking to create a very special “silver” grand piano that will delight music lovers with deep pockets.
The silver inlays on the piano are said to reflect the light in every concert hall and salon “in a way that is quite unparalleled”.
Over 6 kg of silver were used. Silver has also been incorporated into the piano stool, and even the keys and the tuning fork that go with the piano are made in sterling silver. The large soundboard has been lacquered in silver, making the piano the absolute expression of the finest craftsmanship.
And if you’d like an ornament to place on the piano when not in use, then the silver specialist has just the thing: an elegant grand pair of candelabras, aptly called “Grande Composition”.
The ‘C Bechstein Sterling Grand Piano inspired by Robbe & Berking’ made its world début at Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, Germany, earlier this year, and is priced at €250,000 ($275,000) while the stool is a mere €7,540 ($8,227).
