Summer 2015
Chopard’s stunning jewellery was worn by a multitude of stars, socialites, supermodels and celebrities over the course of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
The jewellery included the Swiss house’s 2015 Red Carpet Collection, worn by stars on the opening day of the festival in May, comprising 68 stunning pieces of earrings, necklaces and bracelets.
Stars in Chopard included French actresses Léa Seydoux, Emmanuelle Béart and Alix Bénézech, Spanish actresses Rossy de Palma and Blanca Suárez, South African and American actress Charlize Theron, 2015 Oscar winner Julianne Moore, Chopard ambassadress and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, British-American actress Lola Kirke, British actor Jack O’Connell, and 2013 Trophée Chopard laureate, French actress and Member of the jury Sophie Marceau, Japanese actress Masami Nagasawa, and Lebanese actress and director Nadine Labaki.
Also wearing Chopard were supermodel Erin O’Connor, German model Toni Garrn, American actor Jake Gyllenhaal, American model Lindsay Ellingson, English model and socialite Poppy Delevingne, Indian actress Sonam Kapoor, Franco-Canadian actor Niels Schneider, American actress Andie MacDowell, American author and fashion blogger Leandra Medine, Chinese actress Zhao Tao, Italian actress Isabella Rossellini, Dutch model and actress Doutzen Kroes, Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director Lupita Nyong’o, French actress Marion Cotillard and model and socialite Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann.
TROPHÉE CHOPARD
The house also presented its 2015 Trophée Chopard – which recognises the finest up-and-coming stars and is now in its 15th edition – to Lola Kirke and Jack O’Connell for their performances in Gone Girl and Unbroken respectively.
Julianne Moore handed this year’s awards to Kirke and O’Connell in a ceremony at the Martinez hotel, which was attended by festival President Pierre Lescure, Director Thierry Frémaux along with former laureates of the trophy.
Chopard also revealed a new line of diffusion jewellery in ethically mined gold on the sidelines of the festival, which is now in its 68th year.
Called Palm Verte, the line draws its inspiration from the famous Palme d’Or trophy, the highest prize awarded at the festival.
Part of the Green Carpet Collection, the Palme Verte collection is crafted in Fairmined 18-karat yellow gold, and “is to be worn like a talisman that one never takes off”.
The Palme Verte line is part of Chopard’s “journey to sustainable luxury” launched in partnership with Eco-Age and its creative director Livia Firth.
Awarded to the director of the best film at the festival since 1955, the Palme d’Or is a reference to the coat of arms of the city of Cannes in France.
With the Palme d’Or celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, Chopard has been paying tribute to it through several creations, ranging from haute joaillerie to dainty, restrained jewellery lines.
The Palme Verte collection comprises earrings, a pendant, a ring and a bracelet and is suited to daily wear.
