William Smith III (Billy) has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Trinity Yachts.
Shane Guidry, president and CEO of Harvey Gulf International Marine, says: “One of the most respected professionals in the superyacht industry, Billy brings an institutional knowledge of Trinity and a strong relationship with Harvey Gulf as well as deep connections with national and international clients. Billy is a valuable asset to Trinity Yachts, and we are confident that he will help take Trinity Yachts to the next level.”
Smith previously served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Trinity Yachts and Gulf Coast Shipyard Group (GCSG), a position which was eliminated upon the purchase of the companies by Harvey Gulf last month.
Smith is as dedicated to his industry as he is to any one vessel under construction or under way. He is a founding member and current board member of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) and a member and former Vice Chairman of United States Superyacht Association (USSA). He is also a founding board member of the Gulf Coast Conservation Association of Louisiana.
“With the purchase of Trinity Yachts and Gulf Coast Shipyard Group, Harvey Gulf is well positioned to grow, and I look forward to bringing my skills, interests and relationships to help the company further define and strengthen its luxury yacht division,” says Smith. “Working with Harvey Gulf allows me to offer the most environment-friendly vessels in the industry, especially the transfer of technologies from the commercial fleet - such as the most recent delivery of the country’s first dual-fuelled LNG-powered offshore supply vessel - to the superyacht client.”
Smith’s office is located at the Trinity Yachts location in New Orleans in the US.
Trinity Yachts is the superyacht division of Harvey Gulf International Marine. The company is the world-renowned builder of custom steel and aluminium super yachts up to 330’ (100 m) and was founded in 1988 with historical roots dating back to the famous WWII Higgins Shipyard. Trinity Yachts feature the flexibility of incorporating both client-generated and in-house naval architecture and design.
Harvey Gulf International Marine is a marine transportation company that specializes in providing Offshore Supply and Multi-Purpose Support Vessels for deep water operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
