Eberhard has made its debut in Qatar through eminent local retailer Al Fardan Jewellery.
The Luxury Swiss watchmaker’s collection of fine timepieces are now available to connoisseurs at Al Fardan Jewellery’s boutique at the Villagio Mall in the capital Doha.
Its Qatar debut is of significant importance, as the country is quickly gaining a reputation as a major market for bespoke luxury goods and Qatari watch-lovers are renowned for their love of high-quality timepieces, the Swiss maison says.
To mark its entry into Qatar, Eberhard has featured a very special piece in its display collection: a Special Edition Gilda Gran Pave Gold described as “an exquisite jewel of a watch” designed to adorn the wrist of a lady.
This stunning piece of horological perfection dazzles with over 8 carats of diamonds on its case and bracelet and is the piece de resistance of the Doha collection.
Also on view are the famous Chrono 4 and the 8 Jours timepieces, each of which are iconic creations that reflect the fine watchmaking pedigree of Eberhard & Co.
“We are extremely pleased to make our debut in such an important market as Qatar,” says Mario Peserico, General Manager of Eberhard & Co. “We are also fortunate to be able to partner with such a significant player in the business as Al Fardan Group, who are among the pioneers of the luxury business in the region.”
The Al Fardan boutique specialises in bespoke luxury offerings and is centrally located in Doha's most coveted shopping destination, the Italian-themed Villagio Mall, which is a favoured leisure and entertainment hub for the capital's well-heeled population of Qataris and expats.
Eberhard story has its beginnings in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a remote mountain town nestled in the Jura Mountains that has always been the heart of fine watchmaking.
This is where all the great watch masterpieces were created since the seventeenth century. It was here in 1887 that Georges Eberhard, at only twenty-two years of age, founded his manufacture d’horlogerie. Right from the start the company specialised in making hi-tech watches and was one of the first to produce wrist chronographs in 1919, a product that Eberhard is still specialising in today.
Faithful to its watchmaking traditions, at the dawn of the new millennium the brand patented the most innovative chronograph on the market - Chrono 4. Four aligned counters defied the traditional chronograph reading and Chrono 4 became an icon of contemporary watchmaking.
In addition to these and other important product collections, like that dedicated to the great driver Tazio Nuvolari, the brand has recently extended its collection with a female line, Gilda, designed with a “watchmaking mentality combined with a special sensitivity to the needs of the modern woman”.
