Swiss watch and jewellery house Chopard has unveiled the second of a series of advertising campaigns dedicated to its four flagship collections: Happy Diamonds, Imperiale, Haute Joaillerie and Classic Racing.
Following the Happy Diamonds campaign in April, the new Imperiale campaign features top American model Hilary Rhoda showcasing the flamboyant femininity and sculptural beauty of the jewellery and watch line.
In a series of shots, the charismatic international beauty Rhoda reveals the full gamut of emotions stirred by the Imperiale collection. Staged by photographer duo Luigi and Iango, the campaign exudes a contemporary look and iconographic codes that position Chopard at the heart of current trends.
Launched at the Venice Film Festival in Italy, which is currently under way, the campaign also highlights an extension of the Imperiale line called the Empress Jewellery Box - a capsule collection incorporating five exceptional pieces – watch, earrings, ring, necklace and tiara – to be worn alone or together.
EXCEPTIONAL CHARACTER
The feminine Imperiale collection dazzles with the richness and delicacy of its details. Since 2010, it has become a flagship range of Chopard’s feminine watchmaking. In 2011, the Imperiale watch inspired a highly sophisticated collection of jewellery. Interwoven three-dimensional rose or white gold lacework adorned with amethysts – the colour of emperors since the Byzantine era – outline the noble profile of a decorative design reminiscent of the embroidery embellishing the hangings and cushions on which rulers were accustomed to placing their insignia. Present throughout the Imperiale collection, the motif imbues this line with its strength of character and regal standing.
CAMPAIGN
Luigi and Iango’s artwork, visibly guided by a sense of architecture and movement, reflects a graphic quest for precision, sophisticated rigour and glamour-infused freedom. Nourished by their passion for fashion, beauty and art, Luigi and Iango are committed to ceaselessly redefining the codes of contemporary elegance. Their images exalt the sensual power of the Imperiale collection, a vibrant energy and radical modernity that convey all the strength and sophistication of the Imperiale universe.
HILARY RHODA
Majestic, feminine and sophisticated, Hilary Rhoda embodies the Imperiale woman to perfection. Originally from Maryland, she has a unique ability to capture light and since a very young age has caught the attention of the greatest photographers and creators.
It is therefore no surprise that the Chopard has associated itself with the talent, elegance and beauty of Rhoda.
In Venice, at the launch of the new Imperiale campaign to which a luxurious capsule collection will set the crowning touch, Hilary Rhoda will walk the red carpet wearing a selection of flagship pieces from this collection that is aristocratically showcased in the Empress Jewellery Box.
EMPRESS JEWELLERY BOX
While its name is a nod to the noble dreams it carries, the pieces it consists of testify to strong roots in the codes of contemporary aesthetics. Five pieces describe today’s jewellery daydreams, the kind that adorn women of character radiating an aura of timeless chic.
This capsule collection develops the iconic Imperiale motif. On the watch, the pattern is combined with diamonds delicately set on the watch crystal, admirably framing a circular-grained mother-of-pearl dial peeking from beneath its dainty curves. The profiled hands sweep across this canvas and reveal the hour in complete transparency, infusing this object with the sublime sparkle of a jewel in the guise of a watch. The magic continues to unfurl on the case encircled by baguette diamonds, while the lugs are set with brilliant-cut diamonds picking up the Imperiale motif. And to make the watch even more unique, the strap is presented in a pleated purple damask fabric on which the collection’s emblematic motif appears in embroidery.
Other pieces include a pair of earrings, a ring, a necklace and a spectacular tiara.
With its rose gold arabesques adorned in diamonds and amethysts facetted and cut in harmony with this motif, the collection exudes an unmistakable sense of stately majesty, says Chopard.
