Lufthansa Technik has appointed Robert Gaag as Senior Vice President Corporate Sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa (EuMEA).
Gaag, 55, replaces Wolfgang Weynell, who has hold the position since last July.
Weynell will remain Senior Vice President Corporate Sales & Marketing until December 31, 2015, when he retires from Lufthansa Technik after 39 years with the company.
The nomination of Gaag, currently Vice President Sales North America, completes the new structure of Lufthansa Technik’s sales organisation.
The new team - around Frank Berweger, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Americas, Gerald Steinhoff, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific, and Gaag - will form a global de-centralized approach of Lufthansa Technik's sales activities.
The main targets of the reorganisation are a better focus on emerging regions of the global MRO (Maintenance, repair and operations ) market, more flexibility to fulfil individual customer needs and direct access for customers to the top management of the company.
Starting January 2016, the regional Heads of Corporate Sales will directly report to the Chairman of Lufthansa Technik Executive Board, Dr Johannes Bussmann.
