Sony has unveiled a feature-packed new camera which is said to have the world’s fastest autofocus (AF) option.
The latest addition to Sony’s award winning line-up of mirrorless cameras, the α6300 was made its debut an exclusive event hosted by Miami celebrity and iconic portrait photographer Brian Smith.
The event, entitled ‘Secrets to Great Portraits’, demonstrated to guests how to engage subjects and capture the essence of personality in a single portrait. Smith shared the keys to creating thought-provoking conceptual images to lift portraits to the next level.
It was designed to showcase the new α6300 innovative camera that enables Smith’s creativity, highlighting the new high-tech features and benefits.
Smith also introduced the new Sony G Master brand of interchangeable camera lenses. The new brand includes three E-mount full frame lenses including a 24-70mm constant F2.8 standard zoom, an 85mm F1.4 prime and a 70-200mm constant F2.8 telephoto zoom.
The α6300 camera is equipped with a newly developed 24.2 MP APS-C sized Exmor CMOS sensor that works together with a Bionz X image processing engine to produce outstanding image quality throughout the entire ISO sensitivity range ISO 100 – 51200. The new camera can also shoot and record high resolution 4K video with full pixel readout and no pixel binning in the popular Super 35mm format.
The camera boasts an unrivalled 4D Focus system that can lock focus on a subject in as little as 0.05 seconds, the world’s fastest AF acquisition time. Additionally, the α6300 has an incredible 425 phase detection AF points that are densely positioned over the entire image area – the world’s highest number of AF points on any interchangeable lens camera, and can shoot images at up to 11 frames per second with continuous autofocus and exposure tracking.
The α6300 with SELP1650 lens will be available in selected Middle East countries from March.
The α6300 (body only) is priced at $1,115 while the α6300L (single lens kit) costs $1,280.
