Etihad Airways is to pamper its premium passengers with a “spectacular” new lounge at its home base in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The new lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 3, will open this May. It will be for the exclusive use of its First Class guests, Etihad Guest Platinum and Etihad Airways Partners Platinum guests, and those staying in The Residence on board its Airbus A380 fleet‎.

The Residence is the world’s only three-room suite on a commercial airline. The suite has a living room, bedroom and bathroom, comes with a butler, and costs a mere $32,000 for a one-way trip from Abu Dhabi to New York in the US.

Etihad says investment and development of the new lounge highlights its commitment to top-tier guests.

The state-of-the-art space combines modern Arabian design elements and the understated elegance and luxury synonymous with the Etihad Airways brand, demonstrating the airline’s legendary hospitality and constant drive for perfection in its multi-award-winning First Class experience, both on the ground and in the air.  

Etihad Airways carried 17.4 million passengers in 2015. From its Abu Dhabi base, Etihad Airways flies to, or has announced plans to serve, 116 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. The airline has a fleet of around 120 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, with approximately 200 aircraft on firm order, including 66 Boeing 787s, 25Boeing 777Xs, 62 Airbus A350s and five Airbus A380s.
