Officine Paneri is showing off its latest timepieces in an exclusive marine-themed setting at the Dubai International Boat Show, which is currently under way in Dubai, UAE.
With its strong association to the world of the sea and its passion for creating high precision timepieces, Panerai is participating at the event as a VIP Supporting Partner for the seventh consecutive year.
The luxury watchmaker’s involvement in the show is a natural extension of the brand’s rich heritage and relation to the sea which goes back to the 1930’s when Panerai supplied the Royal Italian Navy with sophisticated and high precision devices for underwater military use.
At the show’s VIP majlis, Panerai has created a marine-like atmosphere inspired by the Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge, the international circuit of regattas reserved for classic and vintage sailing boats, sponsored by Panerai since 2005.
There, VIPs and watch aficionados can view Panerai’s latest sophisticated timepieces launched in Geneva last January during the 2016 Salon international de la haute horlogerie (SIHH).
The Dubai International Boat Show provides an ideal regional platform to showcase the latest news from the maritime world. The event attracts a regional audience of boat connoisseurs, sea lovers and collectors; all gathered to discover and experience the latest from the nautical industry.
Panerai says that partnering with this powerful event emphasizes its historical lineage and tradition of being related to the sea and proves its position as a renowned haute horlogerie sports watch brand.
Founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop and school of watchmaking, for many decades Officine Panerai supplied the Italian Navy in general, and its specialist diving corps in particular, with precision instruments.
The designs developed by Panerai in that time, including the Luminor and Radiomir, were covered by the Military Secrets Act for many years and were launched on the international market only after the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group in 1997.
Today Officine Panerai develops and crafts its movements and watches at its Neuchâtel manufacture. The latter are a seamless melding of Italian design flair and history with Swiss horological expertise. Panerai watches are sold across the world through an exclusive network of distributors and Panerai boutiques.
The Dubai International Boat Show runs until March 5 and is open to trade visitors and the public from 3 pm to 9.30 pm daily. A single entry ticket cost of Dh60 ($16).
