AGMC, BMW’s dealer for Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special function at its flaghip showrom in Dubai, UAE.
The official commemoration at the importer’s Sheikh Zayed Road showroom on Tuesday was attended by a senior officials from Albatha Group, AGMC and the BMW Group.
Highlighting the importance and success of the UAE for the BMW Group, Bernhard Kuhnt, Senior Vice President of Importer Regions, travelled over from the Group’s headquarters in Munich to join Johannes Seibert, Managing Director of BMW Group Middle East, at the event.
As part of the celebrations, Kuhnt presented a commemorative plaque to Ishaque Noor – Group Managing Director of Albatha Holding, to mark 40 years of successful partnership. He also congratulated the AGMC team on reaching such a significant milestone, while special recognition was given to AGMC‘s Managing Director Stathis I Stathis, who has been with the company since it was first established in 1976.
“It has been a remarkable and inspiring forty years, and I would like to thank each and every one of our employees for their relentless dedication,” commented Stathis. “Today has been a long time in the making – four decades to be exact – so I am thrilled to celebrate this momentous occasion. We have seen exceptional changes since launching
in 1976, both to the automobile industry as well as AGMC‘s own growth and development. None of this would have been possible without the BMW Group’s guidance and support, and what we believe to be the perfect formula for success: premium and luxurious products combined with hard work, dedication and exceptional customer service. The result is 40 years of loyalty and year-on-year sales growth.”
For 40 years, AGMC has delivered premium automotive products and services to its customers as the exclusive importer for BMW Group cars and Motorrad in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.
Founded in 1976 in Sharjah and employing just four employees, the business started with one showroom displaying three cars, a three-bay work-shop and sold 40 cars a year. Moving forward 40 years, AGMC now has more than 700 employees and 26 sales and service facilities across Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. These include four BMW showrooms, four Mini Showrooms, two Rolls-Royce showrooms, three Certified Pre-Owned car showrooms under the BMW Premium Selection Programme and one BMW Motored showroom. Service facilities include two body shops, seven workshops and two car storage facilities and the only Rolls-Royce dedicated state-of-the-art after-sales facility.
The company‘s growth is thanks to major investment across all areas of the business, with AED100 million invested over the past five years to cater for the growth of the BMW Group brands and to enhance the overall customer experience. This includes the opening of new facilities in Fujairah and Deira, and the expansion of its Sheikh Zayed Road showroom in 2011 and 2016.
The celebrations also included the inauguration of a new workshop for BMW and Mini at the flagship facility, with 22 work bays, an exclusive Mini workshop, in-house training centre and 250 parking slots.
