The much-anticipated Jeddah International Luxury Week opened yesterday (May 8) at Jeddah Hilton, enabling visitors to discover an array of extraordinary creations crafted by jewellery makers from 15 countries across the globe.
Inaugurated by Krayem AlEnazi, President of the National Committee for Precious Metals and Gemstones - Federation of Saudi Chambers, the exhibition runs until May 11.
The brands will present their newest and most exquisite jewellery collections, including a plethora of striking gemstones and precious pearls, limited editions, and unique pieces, all available for immediate purchase. With the event coinciding with wedding season in the Kingdom, a wide selection of sought-after bridal sets will also be showcased.
Highlight pieces include a Moussaieff Jewellers’ Platinum Ring with a 5.01 carat natural fancy vivid blue emerald cut diamond, a Yoko London necklace from its Kaleidoscope Collection, with 4-7.5mm freshwater pearls, 2.87 carats diamonds, 4.21 carats pink sapphires, 2.85 carats blue sapphires, and 1.22g mother of pearl, with matching earrings, and the 7.12 carat Nsouli Royal Collection diamond necklace.
Also displaying their dazzling creations are Charles Oudin, Etho Maria, FerrariFirenze, George Hakim Jewelers, Hasbani, Luca Carati, Nafees, Pearl Biography, Renée Jewellers, Scavia, Sicis Jewels, Silvia Furmanovich and Tijoree Jewellery among others.
“With inspiring, fast-paced development and a booming economy, Saudi Arabia is quickly becoming one of the most important markets in the Middle East, especially in terms of the luxury landscape. With Jeddah and Riyadh International Luxury Weeks, we are bridging the gap between leading jewellery brands and the rapidly growing consumer market, at an important moment in the year during wedding season. The rare gemstones and unique pieces on display are some of the finest in the world, and we have no doubt that visitors will be wowed,” said Ibrahim Alzeer, CEO of Saudi International Luxury Week.
The event will also host an insightful seminar on May 9, tapping into the luxury jewellery industry and latest trends, which will be available for all to attend. Entrepreneur and jewellery maker Lilian Ismail and GIA-certified jewellery professional, writer and trainer Seema Haji will address topics such as Innovation in Jewellery Design, The Art of Jewellery Making, and Trends in Sustainability & Ethically Sourced Materials.
Next week will see the brands move to the capital for the second instalment of Saudi International Luxury Week: Riyadh International Luxury Week is set to take place from May 16-19 at Al Faisaliah Hotel.
Saudi International Luxury Week runs in line with the hugely popular Jeddah Season. It is supported by Platinum sponsor Al Rajhi Bank, as well as Lucid Motors, The National Committee for Precious Metals & Gemstones, DANAT - Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones, Store Makers Middle East, and MPP-ME Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine.
The shows in both cities open daily from 16:00-23:00hrs.
