A multiple award-winning Asian luxury spa brand is to make its debut in Dubai, UAE.
Tirta Spa, a four-time winner at the World Luxury Spa awards, is to open a women’s only branch in the heart of Jumeirah, catering to both residents and tourists.
Founded nearly a decade ago by En Calvert in the Philippines, the Tirta brand promises “warm hospitality, relaxation, and grandiose pampering”.
“I have been in love with Dubai for many years and I am confident Tirta Spa brings something new and unique; a heartfelt service that naturally comes from within. Our spa is not just about luxurious pampering but an exceptional experience with a deeper level of tranquility,” says Calvert.
Tirta Spa says it promises an experience “like no other”. At the beginning and end of each treatment, cymbals and singing bowls are used by therapists to create a relaxing mantra to enhance meditation. Incense not only creates an exotic aroma but also serves “to release bad spirits”.
With treatment rooms, steam rooms, saunas, snow rooms and a beauty corner, the spa uses ancient healing rituals with modern methods in order to balance the body.
The spa is a fusion of oriental styles and has influences from Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, India and the Middle East region are present.
The ceilings are accented with cogon roofs, while the décor extensively uses Narra wood, red bricks from Vigan and Mactan stone. Capiz lights made from oyster shell add a Filipino touch to this eclectic architectural mix.
The authentic materials, says Calvert, create an environment of relaxation and indulgence.
Calvert opened her first spa in 2007 in Boracay, which has won awards and accolades not only in the Philippines but internationally, including the World Luxury Spa Awards as the Best Luxury Day Spa in 2012.
