Synergy Aviation of the UK has announced that as part of its expansion two business aviation professionals have joined the board of directors.
Both have taken a significant shareholding in the company and will be involved in the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the business.
Joining the business are Dave Edwards, formerly Executive Vice President of Qatar Airways and Managing Director, Middle East and Asia at Gama Aviation, and Tom Wells, formerly Managing Director, Europe at Gama Aviation.
Managing Director Glen Heavens commented: “After 12 years of growing Synergy Aviation into a market leading jet and turboprop management company and aircraft operator I’m thrilled to welcome Dave and Tom into the business. Both have significant track records in our industry and have delivered strong growth time and again in their careers across the spectrum of business aviation services. I’m really looking forward to working with them as we continue to develop and expand the business.”
Edwards added: “Glen and his team deserve significant praise for the success they have made of Synergy Aviation over the past 12 years, most of it during incredibly tough trading conditions around the globe. They’ve created opportunities for themselves in unique and challenging markets and that experience will form an excellent footing for the growth in aircraft management and ancillary services we are aiming for in the coming years.”
Wells said: “We see this deal as a new chapter for the company. Whilst there is much talk of consolidation in our industry we are very aware that there remains a strong market for bespoke and tailored aircraft management solutions and specialist aviation services. Synergy Aviation is ideally placed to capture those opportunities and we look forward to talking more about those in the coming months.”
Between them, Dave, Tom and Glen have managed and introduced to service over 300 business jets covering every major manufacturer, formed and led Air Operators Certificates, Part M Maintenance and Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisations as well as FBO facilities and executive terminals. They have successfully secured multi-million-pound government contracts in Europe and the Middle East.
