Autumn 2024
The just-opened Delano Dubai, located in Bluewaters Dubai, carries forward the legacy of the iconic brand that pioneered the concept of lifestyle resorts in Miami three decades ago.
A new chapter in Dubai’s luxury resort scene unfolds with the grand opening of the iconic Delano Dubai. Nestled on the idyllic shores of Bluewaters Dubai, the resort promises a distinctive blend of social allure and timeless sophistication. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the city’s skyline and the serene beauty of the Arabian Gulf, Delano Dubai is poised to offer a fresh take on luxury, reviving the glamour that made its Miami counterpart a global sensation nearly 30 years ago.
First introduced in 1995, Delano Miami transformed the landscape of hospitality, pioneering the concept of lifestyle resorts. Today, Delano Dubai carries forward that legacy with the same sense of understated elegance and chic minimalism. It’s more than just a hotel – it’s an experience shaped by the principles of discernment, discretion, and an effortless approach to luxury, echoing the refined ethos that made the brand an icon.
The Dubai hotel features 251 guest rooms including 84 spectacular suites, all designed in Delano’s signature, sublimely understated style. Exceptional restaurant and bar concepts are at the heart of the Delano experience, including a reawakened Rose Bar and return of the legendary Blue Door restaurant, bringing something unique to the city’s dining and mixology scene and establishing the hotel as a veritable social hub.
A stylish wellness studio and the famous Delano Pool with its iconic sunken furniture complete the scene for Dubai’s most exclusive new destination.
DESIGN
Collectively conceived by leading designers Elastic Architects, SA Consultants, La Bottega Interiors and YDesign, in collaboration with Ennismore’s inhouse design team, the interiors of Delano Dubai embody and evolve the aesthetic principles that defined the distinctive look and feel of the Miami original. A discreet entrance framed by manicured greenery evokes South Beach’s whimsical hedge, and guests are swept into the resort through a veil of white curtains that will be instantly familiar to Delano Miami regulars.
Upon entry, the apparent simplicity of the bright, light-filled public areas unfurl into a layered, tactile aesthetic informed by a soft minimalism crafted through brand design signatures. In the lobby, a reflective art piece by Hussain Jamil speaks to fluidity and movement, while the interplay between dark and light is explored through architectural lighting and the juxtaposition of the crisp ‘Delano White’ walls with dark wide-board timber flooring.
ROOMS, SUITES AND FACLITIES
The dark to light motif continues through to the private guest areas, as softly lit monochrome corridors lead guests into spacious rooms and suites streaming with natural daylight, captured in room names like Rising Light and Waking Eclipse. The design of each room is guided by a chic, tonal palette and embraces fluidity in soft, curved silhouettes and rich textures.
Each guestroom has a blissfully secluded balcony or terrace overlooking the resort’s verdant, tree-studded gardens or the shimmering waters of the Arabian Gulf, while the ground-floor Breaking Waves Suites also offer private pools set just steps away from the pristine beach.
Designed by La Bottega Interiors and set exclusively across the seventh floor with personal elevator entrance, the five-bedroom Delano Penthouse seamlessly blurs the lines between exquisite residential experience and ultra-luxury resort living. Upon entry, a stately corridor lined with polished stone columns leads to a series of stylish living and dining spaces – including a Bulthaup professional kitchen – that culminates in a shaded private terrace with fully-stocked bar and formal dining area.
Six distinctive restaurant and bar concepts sit at the heart of Delano Dubai, cementing its position as the city’s most exhilarating new food and drink destination.
WELLNESS
The Delano wellness studio experience has been crafted in collaboration with Adrienne Everett, renowned yoga instructor and founder of HWH Studio. A one-time resident of the original Delano, Everett is the architect behind the wellness programme in Dubai, blending cutting-edge health innovations with time-honoured practices to offer guests a bespoke experience that incorporates high-calibre fitness classes, personal training, and immersive holistic experiences. Two treatment suites are also available for customised beauty and massage treatments, as well as a fully equipped gym with state-of-the-art cardio equipment and free weights.
Delano is part of Ennismore, a creative hospitality company rooted in culture and community, with a global collective of entrepreneurial and founder-built brands with purpose at their heart. Formed in 2021, Ennismore is a joint-venture with Accor, which holds a majority shareholding.
