Yachting
New Heesen yacht takes shape

Heesen Yachts of the Netherlands has joined the hull and superstructure of YN 18151, a 51-m semi-displacement full-custom motoryacht below the 500GT threshold.

YN 18151 has unique exterior lines and interior styling by Eidsgaard Design.

Heesen’s Board of Directors said it was exciting to see this full-custom project take shape. “Working with SuperYachtsMonaco, who represent the client’s commercial interest and Superyacht Technical Services who are providing the technical support, is a very positive experience,” they said. “YN 18151 a custom project which embodies the Heesen DNA as a full-aluminium, semi-displacement yacht for fast cruising: she is going to be yet another Heesen with a great pedigree.”

Jim Evans, Managing Director at SuperYachtsMonaco, said: “This is the first time we all can see the innovative exterior lines that Eidsgaard Design has created for this full-custom yacht. We are hugely excited to see that the translation from drawings to aluminium has worked perfectly and we believe that this yacht will generate genuine interest amongst superyacht connoisseurs.”

The svelte exterior lines will be enhanced by the extensive use of curved glass windows that will give this yacht the aggressive look of a jet fighter.

Powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M93L diesel engines with ingenious naval architecture and precision engineering by Heesen’s in-house experts, YN 18151 will reach an impressive top speed of 25 knots with a range of 2,425 nm at cruising speed of 11 knots.

The delivery of YN 18151 is scheduled in spring 2018 after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.
