A diamond necklace worth $2.65 million is dazzling the crowds at the Jewellery Arabia exhibition, which opened yesterday in Bahrain.
The necklace is the creation of Italian jewellery maker Maria Gaspari and is made of two- and five-carat diamonds totalling 160 carats.
The necklace has a price tag of around BD1 million ($2.65 million).
Maria Gaspari has been a regular at Jewellery Arabia since the show’s launch 25 years ago.
Meanwhile RCM, another Italian jeweller, is also showing off pieces worth more than half a million dinars, including an emerald necklace priced at BD795,000, two yellow diamond rings worth BD760,000, and a huge titanium brooch worth BD95,000.
The titanium brooch is set with pink sapphires and diamonds, and the metal was chosen because of the booch’s size, as gold would have made it too heavy to wear.
Both Maria Gaspari and RCM are at the Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BJC) pavilion at the show.
As many as 600 exhibitors are showing off their latest creations at Jewellery Arabia 2016, the Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch exhibition.
Jewellery Arabia spans 21,000 sq m of exhibition space, and a huge range of jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, clocks, fine writing instruments, accessories and more from around the globe are on sale.
The show is being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre and runs until Saturday.
