The first Robinsons store in the GCC and Middle East has opened in Dubai.
Located at the Dubai Festival City mall, the flagship store is spread over three levels, across 200,000 sq ft and with 600 brands.
It is the largest department store in the region, home to 90 fashion and beauty brands, as well as John Lewis home collections on top of the large variety of international and local labels.
Founded in Singapore in 1858, Robinsons is owned by the UAE’s Al-Futtaim group, which opened the Dubai store in a joint venture with the Chalhoub Group.
“The culmination of a journey that has brought together three great brands; Robinsons, with its 150 year-long heritage in high-end retail; Chalhoub and its incredible track record in the Middle East’s luxury sector; and Al-Futtaim, with our reputation as a partner and provider of quality products and services that enrich people’s lives - each and every day,” says Paul Delaoutre, Retail President at Al-Futtaim Retail Group.
The store is redefining fashion retail with its unique interior design featuring vertical gardens on all levels created by Patrick Blanc, the globally renowned visionary designer, as well as an array of natural elements from wood to marble.
The visual merchandising is giving a completely new look and feel to the store and inspirational experience to its customers. The launch thematic, “Urban Romance”, celebrates the greenery and freshness of fashion, a new urban-green attitude with a nod to the Singaporean heritage of Robinsons.
The store was inaugurated by Omar Al Futtaim, the vice chairman of Al-Futtaim. Robinsons’s love for fashion, art and local culture is being showcased through an exhibition by Dr Reem Tariq El Mutwalli at the luxury rotunda on the first floor, featuring a selection of traditional gowns worn by prominent UAE female figures. The exhibition will be open until the end of June.
Besides this one of a kind showcasing, Robinsons is supporting local talent and creatives by launching The Collector platform, focusing on solely the collections of five Emirati designers, selected in partnership with the Dubai Design & Fashion Council.
Services offered by Robinsons include:
• Dedicated first class Valet Parking at the VIP entrance on the first floor
• Hands-free Shopping for our customers providing ease and comfort throughout their visit to the store
• Tailoring and alterations services from made-to-measure to monograms, to tailored services.
• Customisation with wide selection of ateliers, including the Sneaker Bar for shoe customization, embroidery, as well as the unique Crystal Lab by Swarovski.
• Home delivery, with dedicated white glove service.
• Kids’ Cinema
• Charging stations across the store
• The Robinsons Club (Loyalty program), with privileges, unique offers, personalised services and much more to make shopping more rewarding
There is café or restaurant on each floor. Wild & The Moon is operating the Fashion Library Café on the 1st floor. The Japanese fusion Origami is located on the 2nd floor and the French gourmet hamburger specialist, Big Fernand, on the ground floor, both overlooking the Creek.
The Fashion Library Café of the first floor is a unique concept, where customers get the opportunity to relax and get inspired from their favorite magazines and a selection of fashion, art and design albums.
