An exotic perfume with an equally exotic price tag lent an air of opulence to a trade show for beauty products in Dubai, which ended today.
Priced at €150,000 ($166,000) a bottle, Amore Proibito or Forbidden Love comes in exquisitely hand-crafted gold and jewel-studded containers, and was the cynosure of attention as Beautyworld Middle East wound through its third and final day at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Forbidden Love is the creation of Italian perfumer Simone Cosac. The exotic perfume is contained in an exquisitely fashioned bottle made out of 18-karat gold and studded with sparkling high quality diamonds
The signature scent from the Florence-based Italian atelier is an exotic blend of floral notes and spicy undertones that captures the grandeur, romance and the joy of life enjoyed by the legendary lovers, the Grand Duke Francesco I de Medici and his beautiful Venetian mistress, Bianca Cappello,
Collectors and fine fragrance lovers can even get the perfume in customised containers which can be fashioned according to individual tastes and preferences.
The atelier offers a personalised service by which the customer can visit the perfumer and stay in Florence while completing the order according to their specific wishes. The bottle is also offered in ruby and emerald versions.
Beautyworld Middle East showcased 1,580 exhibitors from 60 countries, making the 22nd edition 11.5 per cent larger than the previous year.
