Wider’s award-winning Wider 150 has been delivered to its new owner following interior work and the yacht, now named Bartali, is set to sail for the French Riviera.
The Wider 150 was launched in late 2015 and sold in last December following its display at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
The new owners had requested some modifications to the interior to suit their specific requirements which have now been completed by the Italian yacht builder at its yard in Anacona.
Constructed entirely in aluminum, the elegant silhouette of the Wider 150 includes a 90-sq-m beach club with 7-m indoor swimming pool and an incredible 75-sq-m master stateroom.
The yacht’s ability to run in near silence using only her batteries has resulted in unprecedented levels of interest and a collection of awards from the most prestigious organisations, including the World Superyacht Awards, World Yachts Trophy and MYS/RINA.
“The team has worked very hard, working extra shifts over last couple of months to ensure that we complete the requested changes and hit the delivery date agreed with the new owner. It is our mandate to never compromise on workmanship and to deliver on our promises and I am very proud to be working with everyone involved,” said Michael Hackman, Executive Vice President - Marine Operations with Genting Hong Kong and interim Chairman of Wider.
He continued: “This is a significant milestone in the history of the shipyard. The Wider 150 represents a number of firsts both to us and the yachting industry as a whole. We believe the Diesel Electric propulsion system installed on board – the first time this has been done on a yacht of this size – is the future of yachting. The multiple benefits this system offers clients, among them low noise and vibration but equally the reduced carbon footprint thanks to her remarkable fuel efficiency is increasingly appealing to customers. The automotive market has transformed client’s outlook, a growing segment of the market is looking for increasingly green solutions.”
Bartali will now be heading off to the Cote D’Azur where her new owners plan to move aboard for the season.
At the shipyard, work continues with the construction of the Wider 165, project Cecilia, which remains on schedule to be launched in Q1 of 2018.
Wider remains in discussion with a number of interested clients about the sale of ‘Cecilia’ as well as for other future projects.
The Wider 165 is listed for sale priced at €30 million ($33.5 million).
In April this year, Wider was acquired by Exa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genting Hong Kong.
Genting Hong Kong is a leading corporation principally engaged in the business of cruise and cruise related operations along with leisure, entertainment and hospitality activities.
