Autumn 2018
BAE Systems will showcase its broad aerospace expertise, including exhibiting the Hawk advanced jet trainer aircraft and the Eurofighter Typhoon, at the Bahrain International Airshow 2018 (BIAS).
In addition, the company’s comprehensive air crew and ground crew training services will also be showcased at BIAS.
The stand will also feature a Commander SL air defence radar and a Hawk flight simulator. An RAF Typhoon is also confirmed to fly a display each day during the show.
BAE Systems will be a Gold Sponsor at the BIAS. The agreement, which was signed in July at the Farnborough International Airshow held in the UK, makes this the fifth consecutive show in which BAE Systems has shown its support to BIAS, as the leading defence and security company was one of the first companies to participate in the show when it was launched in 2010.
In 2016, as part of the 200th anniversary of Bahrain-British relations, BAE Systems, in conjunction with RAF Museum, created a special heritage display which included a replica of a WWII Supermarine Spitfire which was assembled by Bahraini students. This took centre stage outside the exhibition hall alongside a full-scale replica of the Eurofighter Typhoon.
“I am very proud to welcome BAE Systems back to Bahrain for BIAS 2018,” Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed says.
“As one of our most valued long-standing partners for the show, I am confident that their participation will yet again add value to our show’s offering. Their continued participation in and support for the show since its beginning is testament to the business success that the show enjoys and I thank them for being part of that success,” he adds.
Alan Garwood, Group Business Development Director, BAE Systems, says they are “pleased to once again be a sponsor of the Bahrain International Airshow, continuing our long-standing relationship with Bahrain.
“The UK also has a long history with Bahrain and we are proud to support that association by participating at this year’s event as a gold sponsor,” he says.
