Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation of the US has appointed Leda Chong as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning.
In this newly created position, Chong is responsible for leading the identification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities for Gulfstream, with particular emphasis on international markets.
She reports to Gulfstream President Larry Flynn.
Chong formerly served as the senior vice president of Asia Pacific for Gulfstream and was responsible for business development, strategic planning and government relations within the Asia-Pacific region for both Gulfstream and the Aerospace business group of General Dynamics, Gulfstream’s parent company.
Chong joined General Dynamics in 2007 as a director of government relations and was appointed staff vice president of government relations in 2009.
“Throughout her tenure, Leda has demonstrated a proven ability to develop clear and compelling strategic objectives and work with key stakeholders to achieve them,” Flynn said. “Her expertise, especially in terms of international markets, will help ensure the continued growth and development of the Gulfstream brand around the world.”
Prior to joining General Dynamics, Chong served in the US Navy, retiring in the rank of commander. She is a native of Hong Kong and fluent in Chinese. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, with degrees in applied mathematics and French literature.
Chong will be based in Savannah, US.
