We are now just a year away from the start of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020! As the countdown continues, Omega has released two new Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition watches to celebrate the event.
Omega has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games on 28 occasions since 1932. As well as recording the dreams of history’s greatest athletes, the brand has also developed and evolved many of the most sophisticated timekeeping technologies in the world of sport.
When Tokyo 2020 begins on July 24, 2020, Omega will be at the event for the 29th time, continuing its proud legacy behind the clock, said the company.
Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition
Just like the athletes at the Olympic Games, the Seamaster Aqua Terra performs beautifully on land and on the water. For this sporty Tokyo 2020 model, Omega has introduced the collection’s first ceramic dial – crafted with a polished blue finish and a laser-engraved Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem.
Elsewhere, the symmetrical 41 mm case is built from stainless steel and includes a sapphire crystal caseback with a transferred Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem.
Limited to just 2,020 pieces, the watch comes ready for action on a structured blue rubber strap and includes an additional stainless steel bracelet in its special presentation box. Inside, the timepiece is driven by the Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, delivering the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision and magnetic-resistance.
Seamaster Planet Ocean Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition
Every host country of the Olympic Games brings a unique flair and culture to the event. Japan is no exception. Omega is truly looking forward to its time in Tokyo and has crafted this patriotic Seamaster with a true Japanese touch.
The 39.5 mm case is in stainless steel and includes a white ceramic bezel ring with its diving scale in Omega Liquidmetal. In tribute to the year of Tokyo 2020, the number 20 on the bezel is filled with red liquid ceramic.
The polished white ceramic dial continues the Tokyo theme with a special lollipop central seconds hand. Beautifully representing the flag of Japan, its tip has been crafted with a varnished red dot.
