Canon has launched two new ultra-high definition (4K) cameras in the Middle East.
The Canon EOS C300 Mark II is targeted at film and broadcasting professionals while the Canon XC10 4K Camcorder is designed for both amateurs and professionals who want premium quality videos from a high-end camera that is light and easy to use.
The two cameras were unveiled by Canon in association with its partner National Store in Dubai, UAE.
4K-cameras boast a pixel format of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels - four times that of the current 1,920 by 1,080 Full HD television sets, meaning it has greater clarity and depth.
“4K is the next leap big in broadcast and TV, and for video production companies, there’s little benefit in standing still. Our role at Canon is to help facilitate creative expression at all ends of the spectrum. And that's why we have the C300 Mark II and the XC10 cameras which reflect the evolving needs of video producers,” says Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director at Canon Middle East.
The Canon XC10 4K Camcorder is compact, palm-sized lightweight camera that has a versatile design for convenient 4K/Full HD video shooting and 12 MP digital still photography.
The Canon C300 Mark II is a second generation Cinema EOS 4K camera system with a wide range of new and improved features including 4K/2K/Full HD internal and external recording.
Both the camera are equipped with wi-fi functionality, a handy need when doing arial shoots with the drones and quadcopters and offer a seamless, easy and cost-effective way to 4K production.
A subsidiary of Canon Europe, Canon Middle East is the operational headquarters for Canon in the Middle East and North Africa and is based in Dubai.
In Bahrain, the C300 MKII is priced at BD7,228 BD ($19,154) while the XC10 costs BD980 ($2,597).
