Morocco, which is a hub for regional business aviation, offers a lot of potential for the future, according to Trevor Esling, Gulfstream’s Regional Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (EMEA).
Esling’s comments came as the inaugural MEBAA Show Morocco got under way yesterday at the Mohammed V International airport in Casablanca.
Hosting some of the biggest names in business aviation from around the region, the two-day event was inaugurated by Mohamed Najib Boulif, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Aziz Rebbah, in Morocco, with Ali Al Naqbi, the Founding Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA).
During the tour, Boulif and Alnaqbi visited each of the exhibitors, learning about the newest technologies available and viewing equipment on display.
Some of the exhibitors that they interacted with included the Platinum show sponsor GDC Technics, Gold sponsors Boeing Business Jets and Bombardier/TAG, plus other international and local companies such as Gulfstream, AfricAir and Saudia Private Aviation (SPA).
With 57 exhibitors on site, the show, organised by F&E Aerospace on behalf of MEBAA, features offerings from industry heavyweights Bombardier and Gulfstream, regional companies like AfricAir, plus a static display of the latest business aircraft.
“We are pleased to be exhibiting here at MEBAA Show Morocco,” said Esling. “Business in Morocco is good and demonstrates lots of potential for the future.”
As many as 2,000 visitors are expected to attend the show over its two-day run, in order to see the latest developments in business aviation and to network with their industry peers.
Al Naqbi said: “We are focusing on the Moroccan market because we knew that Morocco was a hub for business aviation in the region and we are thrilled to see that it has appealed to so many exhibitors and visitors.”
MEBAA Show Morocco 2015, which concludes today, is held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
