The annual Salon des Grandes Complications opens today in Dubai, UAE.
Now in its second edition, the four-day event will feature 13 eminent watch brands including A Lange & Söhne, Arnold & Son, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Girard-Perregaux, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Kerbedanz, Panerai, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, Vianney Halter and Voutilainen.
The brands will showcase novelties, masterpieces, and of course, their unparalleled watchmaking expertise.
To solidify its more prominent standing, this year’s exhibition is endorsed by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH, which will be present with its ‘Think Time Think Swiss Excellence’ show, and returns on a grander scale with an increased space featuring even more acclaimed watchmakers.
Salon des Grandes Complications is the region’s first platform for exchange of horological know-how, offering opportunities for meaningful encounters between industry leaders, recognised collectors and aficionados.
Each of the 13 brands exhibiting at the highly anticipated fine watchmaking fair have a plethora of extraordinary specialties and accolades between them, with deeply-rooted and distinctive philosophies.
They will be presenting their latest collections and key timepieces, and will showcase their incredible insights into craftsmanship and mechanical know-how and expertise through live demonstrations by various master watchmakers.
Commenting on their participation at the Salon des Grandes Complications, independent watchmaker Girard-Perregaux’s CEO Antonio Calce says: “We are glad to highlight our collections in a watch collector’s and enthusiast’s universe to bring them into the world of Girard-Perregaux’s heritage, craftsmanship and savoir-faire.”
Laurent Gaborit, Regional Managing Director of Cartier Middle East, India & Africa added, “Cartier is honoured to participate in an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the maison’s latest daring and audacious Fine Watchmaking collections. The creations that will be showcased in this unique exhibition demonstrate an exceptional pioneering spirit that has guided the Maison’s watchmaking innovation and creativity through decades. Daring, tradition, innovation and attention to detail are the foundations of the Cartier spirit that drive each craftsman, engineer and designer to create fine watches that are among the most extravagant and complicated in the world.”
Salon des Grandes Complications will be located at the entrance of DIFC’s building number 5 (on the same street as The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC) and will open from 12 pm to 9 pm every day.
The event is organised by MPP Middle East Media, the publisher of Arabian Watches & Jewellery magazine, and JNJ. This year’s event is supported by Audi Corporate and AXA Art Insurance.
Salon des Grandes Complications will culminate with the Watch of the Year Awards on November 19, a regional event now in its 11th year, designed to recognise brands for their contribution to the industry and decided by a distinguished panel of experts.
